Miranda

Lucas smothered Kylie with a tight hug immediately after he got out of the car.

"Are you alright?" he asked in a protective tone.

Kylie smiled back at him. "Yes, I'm fine, don't worry," she answered.

Lucas shook his head vehemently. "I should've been there with you."

Kylie touched his face gently and said, "Lucas, I'm fine. Really. Besides, we got some other things to worry about."

He furrowed his eyebrows. "Does this have to do with why you smell more like scented explosives than smoke?"

Kylie nodded. They got into the car and drove away, all the while filling Lucas in on what happened during the fire. Miranda told her part of the story, but he was mainly focused on his fiancée. This caused Miranda to whip out her phone and check out videos of Blue Spekter on YouTube. They were mostly out of focus or had a hard time trying to follow the hero and his teammates' movements as they sailed through the sky like rockets.

She smiled at some of the videos, one of which included Blue Spekter's partner, Helion, telekinetically loading a truck with debris of broken concrete at the naval prison, which was in ruins now–thanks to a certain supervillain. Another featured Blue Spekter saving a bunch of teens from a capsized boat down by the river.

Wish we could've done that. We have all done amazing things, but the human world never knew what we've done to protect it.

Miranda suspected that Burnett would have reprimanded her for thinking about exposing the supernatural world to humans. The man didn't tolerate putting supernaturals at risk for the sake of global acknowledgement. There was a reason supernaturals were myths in the human conscience. In the past, whenever supernaturals revealed themselves, humans would fear them for their capabilities, and that fear drove them to horrifying actions. Miranda was no stranger to the history of the Salem witch trials, the bands that came together in attempt to exterminate vampires and werewolves, or the people who sought their help and then sold them out to hunters.

Miranda was born long after these exterminations became history, but her mom, a former high priestess, had indulged her with magical history since childhood.

And yet Blue Spekter managed to win over so many people. I just hope it won't become like Supergirl in season four.

Lucas slowed into the campus parking lot. Perry was there, waiting.

Boy, am I glad to see you.

Miranda was smothered by her boyfriend's powerful arms and chest as soon as she got out of the car.

"Are you okay?" he asked.

She nodded in his embrace then pulled back. Kylie and Lucas came to join them.

"Come on, Holiday and Burnett are worried sick about you guys. They wanted to come, too, but Holiday's in a meeting with the faculty and Burnett is busy with the kids, so I've been instructed to take you guys to their cabin." He began to walk toward the gate. "Not that I wouldn't have come either way."

The four of them got to the camp leaders' cabin. Hart, the teacher's aide, opened the door with little Christian in his arms.

"Hey, good you're," he said, stepping back to let them in. "Burnett is tending to Hannah right now. He'll be out in a moment."

They got into the little living room. Kylie settled down on a chair by the small coffee table while Lucas sat down next to her. Miranda took the couch by the window. Hart put Christian into Perry's arms and then took off.
