Miranda
Kylie drove the car she borrowed from Chase down to the road toward the bed and breakfast, using Google Map to find the address Helen gave her. Quinn texted them earlier about seeing them one last time before they left, hence why they were driving to the inn instead of working on their assignments. Kylie and Miranda already had great ideas for their papers. Miranda wrote it all down in notes. All that was left was to properly write them to make them passable.
"Are we there yet?" Miranda asked and tried to out the front window.
Della had called shotgun, so she was left with the backseat. On the bright side, she had all the space to herself.
"Not far now," Kylie answered. "Besides, they'll wait."
"There." Della pointed up ahead.
Miranda tried to peer around her as much as possible. She spotted was a large house with a tall fence around the property. Behind it was a backyard leading out to a vast valley of plain layer and wildflowers.
They arrived at the front gate.
Indistinct chatter and footsteps sounded on the other side of the fence. Kylie reached her arm out the window and pressed the button on the box next to the gate.
"Hello, how can I help you?" someone spoke through the monitor.
"Yeah hi, we're here to meet with the McAlesters," Kylie said into the monitor.
Miranda quickly rolled down the window, then she stuck her head out and said, "Just tell them it's Kylie, Della, and Miranda out at the front gate. They'll know."
The machine went silent.
Both Kylie and Della glared at her.
"Seriously?" Della complained.
"Hey, I had to be specific. Better that than telling them we have three girls who are in labor."
Kylie and Della shared looks of grimace.
"That makes no sense. Also ew," said Kylie.
The monitor beeped again. "Come on in."
There was a loud click and then the automated iron gate swung open. Kylie switched the car into gear and slowly drove them inside. The McAlesters, Blake, Keegan and some people she didn't recognize waited out on the front lawn. Kylie found a vacant space in the parking lot. Miranda scooted across the backseat to the door and got out of the car before Kylie turned off the engine.
Miranda took in the structure. The house's exterior was beautiful to say the least. It was two stories tall, built with muddy brown bricks filled with flower vines that stretched up to a large balcony on the left side of the building and coated black roofing. The right side of the inn was attached by a smaller one that stretched at least five yards long.
Man, it's beautiful. I can tell why Helen wanted to work here.
She greeted the McAlesters and Millers, then the owners of the inn. The same did Kylie and Della. After they were done, the parents started loading their luggage into the car while the youngsters engaged in conversation. Even Keegan joined them. Miranda gave a brief introduction between Della and Keegan.
"So, this is it, huh?" Miranda started after the introduction.
Quinn shrugged.
"Yeah, I believe so. This is where we separate."
Della stretched out her hand. "Well, it was a pleasure working with all of you."
Quinn shook her hand then she moved on to Blake.
