Kylie

About two hours after the McAlesters left, Kylie put her time to studying and writing her essay for her psychology degree. Miranda had gone off with Perry to feed Baxter. That made her a little bit jealous. Lucas had a meeting today with the Were Council again to discuss some werewolves who were building a new business together with some faes and half breeds.

I don't understand why they need to discuss this. Fredericka is were and she's partners with a tribrid. Those older weres need to sort out their stubbornness and prejudices.

She managed to write three pages when a text from Holiday asked her to meet her in the office.

She took off immediately and knocked on the door upon arrival, though she suspected that little Hannah's whimpering was blocking the sound, so she pushed it open without waiting for a response.

"Hey, I'm so glad you could come," Holiday said cheerfully.

Hannah sat balanced in her lap while Christian slept quietly in his playpen.

"Hung up by the kids?" Kylie asked. She sat down across the desk.

Holiday laughed a little while letting Hannah nib at her finger. Thankfully the little girl's fangs weren't advanced yet or they'll need a hospital. Kylie smiled at them. She hoped to have kids of her own someday.

"So, I talked to the McAlesters before they left," Holiday began, but Kylie interrupted.

"I know. You want to have them transfer Quinn here."

Holiday sighed. Hannah's happy mood remained.

"I simply suggested it to them and told them to talk to Quinn about the options. If they decide to refuse our offer, then we will respect their wishes."

Kylie nodded. "I know that. I heard it, too."

Holiday grunted under her breath and muttered, "Chameleons and their super hearing."

Kylie snickered.

"You might wanna consider putting Hannah and Christian in a room far away from you and your husband when you have sex in the future."

Holiday gaped then frantically moved to cover her little daughter's ears. "Hey, don't say that stuff in front of them, Hannah's first word was a curse word thanks to Burnett. I don't need her to learn more inappropriate stuff. It'll be difficult to straighten her out, not to mention she'll rub it off on Christian."

Kylie shrugged with amusement. Holiday was such a mom to her children and students. Just like how Burnett put the safety of the school above everything else. Which was why everyone at school loved and respected them. Even though some of the students didn't get along with each other, they always listened to her during a comeuppance or whenever Burnett read them the riot acts.

"She'll probably be so much like her father that it'll be difficult to discipline her properly, but knowing you, you'll figure out a way," she told Kylie.

A gentle smile slowly formed on Holiday's face.

The moment passed in silence, except for Hannah's giggling. Holiday was the one who broke it.

"So what do you think?" she asked. "About Quinn coming to our school?"

Kylie used a moment to let the idea sink in before answering. "I don't know him that well. But if he does decide to come here, then I believe Shadow Falls would have gained an excellent student."

Holiday's smile grew wider.

"There's something else." She was about to tell her about Quinn hearing the falls when the room's temperature suddenly dropped to freezing degrees.
