I got out of the car and looked at Yale. I was grinning from excitement. We were finally here. I had technically graduated a year earlier than Ella, but I took a gap year because we wanted to go together. Jake was also my age, and he was fine with taking a gap year too. We were met outside by a petite girl who I assumed was our tour guide. She had long blonde hair and dark green eyes. "Hey there! I suppose you are here for the tour?" We nodded. She pulled out a clipboard and asked our names. "Jake Grey, Jamie Glynn, and Ella Glynn," I said, gesturing to each of us. The girl checked our names off a list then looked up with a smile. "My name is Lilly Jones and I will be your guide." I grinned. "It's nice to meet you." She smiled back. "You three as well." I glanced back at Ella, who had a strange look on her face. I gave her a look back. She often did that. She wanted to... search for other hybrids. Maybe, if we could find others like us, we could feel safe. "Well, come on in," Lilly said after a moment, gesturing at the campus. "I have a lot to show you." We followed her inside. As she led us through the halls, she gave us facts about Yale, as well as facts about herself. "I've only been studying here for a year. I plan on doing two more after this one. I'm majoring in Music Education. Oh! What are you guys studying?" She asked. "Engineering!," I said. "I'm majoring in psychology, but minoring in education. Maybe we will have some of the same classes," Ella added with a smile. "Journalism," Jake finished. Lilly nodded and continued to show us around. The last place she took was the dormitories. "This is where you will stay. It's quite nice, isn't it?" Lilly gestured towards it. Ella nodded. "I brought the dorm keys with me. Jamie and Ella, you will sleep in the same room, but Jake will have a different room." Lilly walked up to the doors and let us in. She handed us our keys. Ella and I had room 203 and Jake had 205. "Well, it was nice to meet you guys! I hope I'll see you around campus!" She waved to us then left. "Well, she seemed nice," Ella stated. She still had that look. I rolled my eyes. "Yes, she did. I want to check out my room now. Come on, Ella!" I grabbed her hand. "Bye Jake!" He waved to us as I went up the stairs and searched for our room. "Here," I said, then unlocked it. I pushed the door open and walked into the comfy room. "I can't wait to decorate," I sighed as I ran my hand across the wall. We set our bags down on the ground and started to unpack. "Alright," I said, throwing my clothing carelessly into the dresser. "You need to stop examining people like that." Ella paused, taking the time to carefully fold her clothes and put them in a neat stack in a drawer. "I suppose it does look a little strange..." She admitted. "But we need to at least check. If there could be even one more of us in this place, it would be great." I nodded. "Then again, how would we even tell them? What if we're wrong?" Ella rolled her eyes. "You're one to be thinking ahead, Jamie. We would have to be sure." I shrugged, then took a poster out of my bag and put it up on the wall. "Maybe even I can take things seriously sometimes." Ella laughed. "I doubt it." At that, I couldn't even help it, and a grin spread across my face. We finished unpacking and decorating our room, and by then it was getting late, and we wanted to sleep so that we could wake up for class tomorrow. As I closed my eyes, I couldn't help but think that things were looking up.
