I was smiling like an idiot as we stood in front of the gigantic school. The old school for Hybrids had been remade and reopened, and was named after us. HFA high. It technically wasn't a high school, as grades were determined by who gets their magic first. A twelve year old could be in a higher grade than a fifteen year old. Though currently, that didn't matter at all. Every magical person was allowed to come and learn from the school, even if they had developed their powers ages ago. It wasn't like any of us had a chance before. Ella, Amelia, Thomas, Chris, and I all had enrolled. We obviously couldn't go back to Yale, after all. Thinking of those days, I wondered how Liam was doing. The school was amazing. There was a large space in the front and stairs leading up to the entrance, but the thing that caught my eye first was the fountain. It was intricately designed, and had the names of every HFA member who died in the battle. Lilly's was front and center, as well as the largest. Lilly Jones, light fairy. It was awfully bittersweet. I could tell Amelia was close to tearing up again. I gave her a reassuring smile. "Come on, let's go check out the inside."
~~~The place was beautiful. Every single bit of it. We were walking through a long room with a beautiful domed mural for the roof... that made me gasp. It was a painting of us. The HFA. Lilly in the middle again, looking peaceful and angelic. At that point, Amelia did start crying. Ella went to comfort her, but she was smiling when she looked up. "I know it doesn't look like it... but I'm so, so happy," she whispered. Ella hugged her. All of a sudden when they broke apart, Arabella ran over to us with excitement clear on her face. "I went through college to be a principal, and I was just asked to be the headmistress!" We all grinned and hugged her. "You'll be awesome!" She smiled. "Thanks." She paused, then someone called out her name. "I'm sorry," she said. "I'm really busy right now. See you guys later!" Then she ran off. I grinned.
~~~
We were the first people to get to enter the crystal chandelier in the ballroom. It really was amazing. Light reflected through each crystal, casting a beautiful light all over the room. There was a magical elevator-like thing that took us into the chandelier. It was even more impressive. I heard Amelia gasp. Her hand was around the crystal necklace Lilly had given her. When she let go, my eyes widened. The light hit it and reflected off of it too, shining colors all around her. Ella paused, digging through her bag. She pulled out the tiara. Sure enough, when she placed it on her head, a halo of light cast around her. My bracelets did the same. I grinned. "This is amazing." Everyone was on the verge of happy tears again. It's finally happening. Things really are getting better. "It's like I'm feeling the happiness of saving magical humans all over again," I whispered. Thomas nodded, grinning as well. "Everyone will get to be safe now. We don't have to hide anymore." At that, Ella raced forward and kissed him on the lips. I turned to Chris, smirked, then did the same. Then all of us shared a group hug, smiling and sobbing all at once. We don't have to hide anymore. I let that sink it. Hybrids can live their lives happily. We can finally rest. We can start families without being afraid for our children's lives. We don't have to hide anymore. The warmth of safety spread through me as I hugged my friends, all of us finally letting go of all of our worries.
