Tears were still running down my face when the president, Tobias Salt approached us on the dais. A table and four chairs had been set up. Jamie, Amelia, and I were already sitting. President Salt took his seat. "I came prepared," he said. He held up several pieces of paper. "I call this the Hybrid Accord. President Salt cleared his throat and began to read. "To summarize, hunting, killing, capturing, and enslavement of magical humans and creatures will be strictly prohibited. Still, magical humans must have a pass to enter the mundane world. The same will be required for Mundanes to enter the magical world. The three of you will, of course, get such passes. They will also apply to your children if you ever have any. What do you say? I would like the three of you to sign it, since you are the founders. You are welcome to read through it as much as you want." We did so, to make sure we weren't missing anything important. Once we were done, I looked at Jamie and Amelia, who seemed satisfied. I stood and turned to face the other Hybrid Freedom Advocates, many of whom were crying. "All in favor of the Hybrid Accord, raise a hand." Slowly, all of the HFA members raised their hands. I turned back to President Salt with a smile. "Where do we sign?" He returned the smile then directed us. Soon, we were done. Nearly printed were four names: President Tobias Salt, Ella Glynn, Jamie Glynn, and Amelia Larken. Lilly's name should be on this too, I thought bitterly. President Salt shook each of our hands then left. Everything felt surreal. After all of the bloodshed, the signing of the treaty had been easy.

Jamie let out a piercing whistle and all of the dragons returned. This time, who rode each dragon was less random. People who lived in the same area would group together. Ryoko took Amelia, Jamie, and I back to the dragon cave, so we could get Lilly's letter that Amelia told us about. Cadmus took Thomas, Chris, Kathy, Bill, and Arabella back to the beach house. I honestly felt numb while we flew to the cave. When we arrived there, we were greeted by the cheers of many dragons. I pasted on a smile. We slowly made our way to Amelia and Lilly's former room. Amelia pushed the nightstand away, revealing two envelopes. She picked both of them up and tore hers in two. Her hands shaking, she opened the envelope and read it out loud. "My beloved friends, if you are reading this, I am gone. First and foremost, I want you to know that it was worth it. I don't regret being a Hybrid Freedom Advocate or dying for the cause. Even if the battle I died in wasn't successful, I don't regret it. I love you all so much and the last few months have been the best in my life. Even though it was hard and stressful. On a different note, I wish to leave you my jewelry. I am an only child and so were both of my parents, so there is no blood family to give it to. My mother has always said that family requires love, not blood. Therefore, I am passing it on to the three of you. Then you can pass them on to your children. You can start a new family tradition. Ella, I want you to take the tiara. Amelia, take the necklace. Jamie, the bracelets are yours. Please tell my parents that I love and I miss them very much. They were the best parents anyone could ask for. Always supportive and loving. Finally, don't let my death destroy you. Someday, I will see you again in heaven." By the time she finished, Amelia could barely speak because of her tears. The three of us hugged each other and sobbed endlessly.
