I breathed heavily as I plunged my trident into the chests of Hybrid Hunter after Hybrid Hunter. Sometimes even people who weren't Hybrid Hunters came at me with a weapon. Someone tapped me on the shoulder. I whirled around with my trident ready. There was a woman standing there. A very pregnant woman. There were tears streaming down her face. "My husband and I have magic. Usually we would have helped fight but..." She simply looked down at her stomach. I put a hand on her shoulder. "Where is your husband?" She sobbed. "He's dead. A Hybrid Hunter almost pushed me out of the way to get to you guys. He used his ice powers to stop her before she could run into me. The Hybrid Hunter shot him." I felt cold inside. "I'll get you away from here," I said. I led her away to the exit, stabbing threats as I went. I then whistled, hoping that one of the dragons would hear. Ryoko and Cadmus flew over, still looking drowsy. "Take this woman to safety," I told her. "Gladly," Ryoko responded. Cadmus nodded. "The Mundanes somehow realized that we are the Chief and Chiefess of the Conjoint Cave. They were targeting us even more. The other members of the Grand Dragon Council told us to leave. Especially because of how recently Viserion and Raina died, our lives 'can't be risked." Ryoko sighed. "They definitely still see us as children. I suppose we will likely be the same way when we are their age." With that, Ryoko bent down and the woman carefully got on Ryoko's back. They took off with Cadmus following behind. I smiled softly. With all the killing around me, I was glad to have spared an innocent life. Suddenly, an arm wrapped around my neck from behind. I was lifted off the ground and my trident fell from my hands. I tried to fight, but it was fruitless. I was surprised when I realized that the grip wasn't tightening. Instead, the man was trying to get his hand down my skirt. I wracked my brain for a solution. Suddenly, it came to me. I gathered all my strength and kicked him in the balls. The man groaned and let go of me. He tried to grab me again, but I punched him in the face. I used the time that bought me to grab the trident. Blood dripping from his nose, the Hybrid Hunter lunged at me. I simply held the trident steady. The idiot impaled himself. I didn't let this faze me. I ran back into the battle. Doing okay? I asked Jamie telepathically. Yeah. You? I smiled with relief. Okay considering a Hybrid Hunter just tried to touch, not kill me. There was silence for a moment, which terrified me. Sorry about that. Just got charged. Anyway, that sucks. You'll have to tell me more about it later. Assured that my sister was alive, I fought with a new determination. I was getting worried about how much longer this might last. The sky was beginning to get dark. My eyes darted around. The only way I could make sure my other friends were okay was by seeing them. Even if I had a phone, it's not like I could text them in the middle of the battle: Hey guys! Just wanted to make sure you're not dead. I couldn't help but laugh at the thought. As I continued to run around and fight, I saw Thomas out of the corner of my eye. I felt a burst of relief. Until I realized that while he fought one Hybrid Hunter, there was another one coming up behind him. I ran over at full speed. I reached him right before the Hybrid Hunter behind him could deliver a fatal strike. With a dagger in my hand, I lunged forward. I took him by surprise, so my dagger was soon embedded in his chest. By that point, Thomas had killed the other Hybrid Hunter. "Thanks, Bella," he said breathlessly. Two more Hybrid Hunters ran towards us and we quickly dispatched them. "No problem." We separated and over the next couple of minutes, I saw all of my friends. That encouraged me, but I still couldn't shake the feeling that something was about to go horribly wrong.
