In a place with so much chaos around me, my power came in handy. I was not being targeted as much as the other three founders, since they literally couldn't see me. That gave me more time to save people from certain death, and fight in the shadows. I snuck up behind someone who was about to strike one of the HFA and impaled him with my spear. I turned visible again, and helped the girl up. Then I disappeared and ran off. I struck out at unsuspecting Hybrid Hunters. The place was pure chaos, and I couldn't tell who was winning the fight. Hybrids using all of their different powers, people screaming, dragons slowly awakening. Of course, the dragons were in no shape to fight. I heard Jamie call out to them, telling them to leave. Some looked as if they didn't want to, but they were in no shape to argue. I sucked in a breath and continued to fight. I was about to stab someone in the back when I felt a horrible pain flash through my midsection, and I dropped to the ground. My head spun, and I realized I had been shot with an arrow. I was gasping for breath. I was losing strength fast. I saw a Hybrid Hunter approaching me, probably readying to finish me off. I couldn't even turn invisible anymore. I tried to get into my knees. Tried to get away. Then the Hybrid Hunter screamed as she got shot with another arrow, and crumpled to the ground. A warm feeling of safety, even if it was false, spread through me as I saw Lilly, holding her glowing bow, wings spread out behind her. She looked at me wildly, then raced to my side. Her eyes got even wider when I took my hand away from my side and it came away red. She held me up, eyes filled with tears. "Amelia, please, stay with me," she whispered. I felt myself slipping out of consciousness, but managed a smile. "I'll... I'll be fine... It didn't hit my heart, at least," I murmured. I felt her pick me up carefully. "Hang on. I'm getting you out of here," Lilly said seriously. She flew. She was probably running on pure adrenaline, being able to fly with me in her arms like that. She laid me down behind a pillar on the Capitol and held my hand. "Amelia," Lilly whispered. I bit my lip so hard I started to bleed. I didn't even feel the pain. It was nothing compared to where I had been shot. "Lilly, you- you remember where I left the envelope, right?" I started slowly. She shook her head wildly. "We won't need that." Suddenly there were footsteps, and Jamie and Ella were standing above me too. "Amelia!" Jamie cried out. "Oh no, please, don't say-" I cut her off. "Jamie. Please don't panic -" I cut myself off when I saw someone approach from behind my friends, holding a gun in one hand, and the other on a dagger in his scabbard. My eyes widened and a horrible feeling of dread rose. Jake.
