I felt tired for the first time in my life. Our trip was going great. Each day was like a dream. Cain didn't let me do anything. He went on adventures with the boys while I slept. My parents got a chance to relax as well. The Mercers had left their mark on us. My parents asked them to stay in contact with us when they left. I couldn't tell them that Kit and his mate were warriors. Many mystical organizations have popped up throughout the years. They called themselves freedom fighters or warriors. These people caused more harm than good. It was all due to the previous alpha king.

I had seen Maverick's future years ago. He could become an exceptional alpha king if he put his mind to it. He was acting oblivious at the moment. My assistant was watching Maverick like a hawk. The elders were doing everything in their power to influence the ruler. I wanted to confront the elders, but I didn't have enough evidence yet. My uncle was silent. He used to love to annoy me. I found his absence odd. I was enjoying the view from our deck when Cain appeared half-naked. The boys were right behind him.

I sighed when I saw the string of fish in Cain's hand. Cain laughed and said jokingly, "Look, Alex. As a man, I provided well for my family." Adriel giggled and uttered, "Ethan and I caught most of the fish, Papa. Daddy is too impatient to wait for them to bite." Ethan smiled and added, "They are for Grandpa, Grandma and you." The boy had turned brown in the sun. I pinched Ethan's cheek and stated, "Thank you so much, my cute little pup." Ethan never sought me, no matter what happened. I was surprised by his sentiment. My parents had just woken up. They didn't waste any time. They instantly started cleaning the fish. Before we knew it, we had a sumptuous meal on the table.

Cain joined us after bathing the boys. Adriel was too lazy to eat. I had to feed the boy. Ethan quietly ate his food. I decided to put the boys to bed after dinner. Ethan climbed into the bed with difficulty. Adriel was half asleep, so I carried him. I could sense that Ethan was struggling with something. The boy gazed at me when I tucked him in but said nothing. I waited till the boys fell asleep and left the room. Cain was waiting for me in the hallway. He pulled me into his arms and uttered, "I missed you so much, Alex." I chuckled and replied, "Stop joking. You see me twenty-four-seven." Cain hugged me tightly and said, "Things will change when we return home. Just let me act spoiled for once." I kissed Cain intensely and stated, "I'll make time for you. Don't worry." We had passionate nights together since we had arrived.

I was hoping for the same that night. I dragged Cain to our room and pushed him on the bed. Cain cupped my face when I saddled him. He kissed me passionately and uttered, "I love it when you take the lead." I kissed my mate back and said, "Tell me what more you like." Cain grinned and grabbed my butt. He licked his lips and stated, "I like every piece of you." I kissed Cain's mate mark and replied, "Me too. I love you with all my heart."

Cain hummed as I left a trail of kisses on his chest. He clutched my hair when I sucked his member. I did my best to pleasure my mate. I almost gagged when he pushed his member deep into my throat. I gazed into Cain's eyes when he ejaculated. Cain was about to prepare me, but I pushed his hand away. Cain frowned and asked, "What's wrong? Don't you want it?" I smirked and answered, "Why don't you leave it to me tonight."

I poured lube on my hand and began preparing myself. Cain slapped my butt when I moaned. I had accidentally hit my sweet spot. Cain smirked and grabbed my waste. I gasped when Cain pushed his member into my hole. I almost slipped off Cain when he began hammering into me. I bit his neck and said, "Calm down." Cain kissed me passionately and uttered, "I'm sorry."

Cain hugged me tightly and slowly picked up his pace after that. I was somehow more sensitive than usual. I closed my eyes to savor the moment. I was enjoying every kiss and touch. Cain and I ejaculated while kissing each other. I moaned when he bit my lip. Cain smiled when I said, "I won't be able to walk if we do this every night." My mate caressed my lips and stated, "I'm exhausted too. Should we sleep now?"

Cain dozed off before I could reply to him. I used a spell to clean him and took a shower. I heard Ethan whimper while climbing into bed. I walked to the boy's room to check on him. I frowned when I saw Ethan sitting on the bed. The boy was massaging his feet. Ethan was startled when he saw me. He covered himself with a blanket and said, "I'm alright, Papa." I clicked my tongue and asked, "Why didn't you tell us you were in pain, Ethan?" Ethan clutched his blanket and replied, "Everyone was busy." I grabbed a VapoRub and said, "You can come to me or your father for anything, no matter how busy we are, Ethan. You are just a child. Why are you being considerate? You have the right to act as spoiled as you want, son."

Ethan grinned when I called him "Son." I huffed and asked, "Are you happy that I'm mad?" Ethan squealed and answered, "It's the first time you have called me son." I ruffled Ethan's hair and said, "You are our child now, Ethan. I, as your father, will never turn you away." Ethan hugged me and whispered, "Thank you, Papa. My feet hurt. Can you rub them for me?" I pulled Ethan onto my lap and massaged his feet. Ethan fell asleep after a while. I decided to sleep in the children's room. I woke up startled in the morning. The boys were running in the house like maniacs. I chuckled when Cain yelled, "Stop moving around! You guys are giving me a headache!"

The boys moved to the front yard. I took a shower and joined everyone for breakfast. It was our last day in Africa. We had a lot of packing to do. The boys played with their grandparents while Cain and I got everything ready. We gazed at the Serengeti before leaving. Adriel and Ethan were observing a zebra foal. Cain ruffled the boy's hair and uttered, "We will be back when you guys are a bit older. I promise." The boys nodded and grabbed Cain's hands. We left after settling matters with the park's manager. Cain had to leave for work after our arrival. I stayed at home with the kids to prepare them for school. The break was over, and things needed to be ready for the first day.

I decided to drop the kids off at school on Monday. Traffic was a mess. I hadn't introduced myself to Ethan's teacher yet. Cain had told them that Ethan would be staying with me for now. I dropped Adriel off at his classroom first. The boy was happy to see his friends. Ethan waved his brother goodbye, then grabbed my hand. He happily led me to his class. The teacher was busy greeting the kids. I waited patiently by the door with Ethan. The guy sighed in relief after all the kids were inside. He gasped when he saw Ethan. The guy smiled and uttered, "I'm sorry. I didn't see you there, Ethan." Ethan giggled and replied, "It's alright, Mr. Clint. How was your break?" Mr. Clint grinned and answered, "It was amazing. Thank you for asking. And who is this?"

Ethan gazed at me and replied, "Oh, this is my uncle. Isn't he handsome?" I pinched Ethan's cheek and uttered, "Cheeky little brat." I reached out my hand to Mr. Clint and said, "Hello, I'm Alexander Haile. I'll be taking care of Ethan from now on. I would appreciate it if you contacted me instead of his uncle from today on. Mr. Barret is busy." Mr. Clint shook my hand and replied, "Ethan is right. You are quite handsome, sir." My hand burned when Clint touched me. I sighed and thought, "What is a serpent shape-shifter doing at a school? They are almost extinct." It seemed like Clint had realized who I was. He quickly grabbed Ethan's hand and uttered, "Have a good day, sir."

I looked into the teacher's background when I got to work. The guy was harmless, but I couldn't let him hide in a school. Serpents went instinct for a reason. People thought that their blood had magical powers, which wasn't true. I sighed while leaning back into my chair. My assistant barged into my office and uttered, "The head elder visited the alpha king while you were away, sir. The man masked his conversation. I couldn't hear anything. I have a feeling he is plotting something." I sighed and said, "Arrange a meeting with the alpha king. Make sure no one's finds out about it." It was time to set Maverick straight.
