Breaking News

We have a couple of early developing stories that we are currently working on this morning. First we have a massive and unusual for this point in the season tropical storm Casey heading from the coastal North Carolina area where it hit landfall at Charlotte leaving behind much rain as well as flooding and wind damage. It was a estimated 73 mile wind when it hit Charlotte and it did appear to lessen but has crept back up 65 mile wind gust. The governors of Maryland and Virginia have declared a state of emergency in advance of Tropical Storm Casey as has the mayor of Washington DC. Schools are currently deciding whether to close early as the rain is beginning to come down pretty hard.

We also are covering the escape of several inmates from the PG County Jail infirmary including that of former public school teacher and accused rapist Skip Sands . Sands is the most dangerous inmate who escaped according to law enforcement officials. He was on probation for the vicious sexual assault of a man with a physical disability when he allegedly attacked former assistant state attorney Winston Arnett and then robbed a popular restaurant where he held hostages and shot the headmaster of Barrington Academy Dr. Gerald HighTower. He was sent to jail to fulfill the remainder of his probation by blind judge L.L. Handel as he awaited trial on several very serious charges. I'm not clear on all the details of the escape from the jail but I have been told by jail officials that it happened in the infirmary. Two guards were injured in the ensuring escape and several officer weapons were taken. I do not know exactly which inmates have access to stolen guns from the jail but the law officials are saying that these inmates are all considered armed and dangerous. If you see any of these men please do not approach them. Call 911 immediately.

Wait.... I'm getting word of something, Diane. Ok. Ok. Diane, they have located four of the inmates already but Skip Sands and Rodney Baker who was in the jail awaiting trial for vehicular manslaughter charges are still on the loose. We will keep you abreast of the latest details on these two major stories The Wrath of Tropical Storm Casey and the escape of two dangerous armed inmates as they come in. Back to you, Diane.

DuBuis : Spencer, go inside and lock the doors and windows. Stay inside. There's a cop outside watching the house. Or so Faith told me. Skip Sands broke out of jail.

----------

Alfred : Gerald , In the teacher break room they're talking about the storm and Skip Sands. Do you have enough food and water in case it's as bad as they say? And are you home yet? Be careful. They don't know where that idiot is exactly.

----------

Richard: Spencer, are you alright? Stay inside. Don't open the door. Make sure everything is locked up.

------------

Andrew: Spencer, son , be careful.

Michael Hara Handel dropped the two grocery bags he was carrying onto the wood block counter in the kitchen of his family's Evergreen Acres townhouse. He quickly dialed up a phone number he knew from heart and ran his hand over his brown face that was damp from the pouring rain outside.

L.L. Handel answered with," Yes ? Are you alright, Damsel? "

Michael laughed. " I'm drenched from this damn rain. But I'm ok. Tell me why we have two police cars watching our house."

L.L. sighed. " Well. What happened was....."

Michael shook his head. And he thought that terrorist trial had been bad.
