His eyes went over to Miracle who was eating Cheerios with her chubby little hands and babbling to herself cheerily. What if something else happened to.... How would he and DuBuis handle it? It had been so tough when she was shot at the courthouse. What if they had lost her right behind Jenessa ? He didn't know the odds of that happening and he didn't really want to think about it anyway. He didn't know what to say to Richard and Nigel. He had even asked for Tania's email but hadn't sent one for the same reason.
Luci looked up from her bowl of cereal. " Why are you getting flowers for them ? Diamond shot Lewis ! Lewis ! Of all people. Lewis never hurts anyone. He's.... just Lewis. Why did she have to shoot him ? Why ? "
Suddenly she threw herself into the arms of her Uncle DuBuis who patted her on her black tee shirt clad back. He wanted to comfort her, Sol , all of them including Spencer but the words would not come. What could he possibly say that wouldn't sound ridiculous and old fashioned?
Sol pushed his still full bowl away from him. " It's too violent. All anyone does is kill. Miss Jenessa. MeeMaw. I'm sick of violence. " He stood up and lumbered out of the kitchen without another word.
Theodore wasn't eating either. He was texting Alan. He needed his sweet positive gentle boyfriend right now. He needed Alan to make the world make sense.
