" I'm so very very very glad you could squeeze me in today," Flower Dennis said gracefully as she perched on the chair across from Gerald's desk. Her long grey hair cascaded about her thin shoulders and her eyes twinkled mischievously. She wore a long handmade blue and white cotton dress with sturdy brown walking shoes. " Busy man like you. You look very good. I must say. You seemed to have lost a little bit of weight. Good for you. And you look so much younger. "
Gerald coughed behind his handkerchief self consciously with his cheeks reddening in embarrassment. Yes. He was aware of how much weight he was losing. He was secretly very proud of himself. And so was Alfred although he knew his partner secretly still feared it meant he would end up leaving him for another healthier man. Which would never happen. Not in his lifetime. In fact Gerald was considering making their relationship a more secure one. His trainer Rocky also was impressed although he cautioned him not to get lazy and slack off just because he was losing weight now.
" Thank you, Mrs. Dennis. What can I do for you today? "
Flower tossed back her hair over her shoulder casually. " I just must make a teeny tiny critical analysis about the school cafeteria menu. I noticed it is woefully lacking in vegan and vegetarian recipes and meals. My Diamond is a vegan now. We all are. Even poor Zip who does love his hamburgers , poor thing. He'll get used to tofu though. Anyway I was hoping you would add at least fifty percent of vegan offerings to the menu. Maybe seventy five percent. If not more. It's so much healthier for the children. I'm sure you can understand that. "
" Well. I'll definitely discuss this with the dietitian in the cafeteria. It should be no prob......"
Flower clapped her hands merrily. " Oh goody ! I was hoping you would agree to a change. Now let's discuss a community garden on the grounds. I've already mentioned it to the middle school science teacher Mr. Anderson and he is on board most definitely. He thinks he can plan several lessons around it as well. "
" Well....."
" Yes. I'll definitely tell Mr. Anderson it's a done deal with the garden. "
Gerald sighed. Would today ever end?
