The chill of winter had settled over Hogwarts, casting a serene silence over the castle grounds. Snow dusted the towers and blanketed the Forbidden Forest, but inside the castle, the atmosphere was anything but calm. Bellarose was focused on the challenges ahead, one of the most intriguing since she started her magical journey: her Animagus training with Pansy.

Bellarose and Pansy met in one of the rooms of the Veil Circle, where Seraphina and Magnus had arranged their first Animagus training session. The room had transformed into a cozy, yet mysterious setting, filled with old couches, enchanted mirrors, and a faint, glowing mist that swirled around the corners. It was a place where magic seemed to breathe with a life of its own.

Pansy was already there when Bellarose arrived, sitting on one of the couches, her arms crossed, and a pensive expression on her face. Bellarose greeted her with a small smile, but Pansy only nodded in response, her gaze distant and cool.

"Ready for this?" Bellarose asked, trying to lighten the mood.

Pansy shrugged, her tone slightly abrupt. "As ready as I'll ever be. Let's just get started."

Taken aback by Pansy's cold demeanor, Bellarose felt a pang of uncertainty but decided not to press the issue. She knew Pansy well enough to realize that something was bothering her, but now wasn't the time to ask. They were here for a reason, and that was to begin their Animagus training.

Seraphina and Magnus stood before them, their expressions serious.
Seraphina began, her voice calm but filled with the weight of the subject at hand. "Before you can even think about becoming an Animagus, it's essential to master the basics of transfiguration. Changing the shape of your body is not something to be taken lightly. It requires not only magical skill but also a deep understanding of your own physical and magical limits."

Magnus nodded, stepping forward. "Today, we'll be focusing on honing your transfiguration skills, both in general and specifically in preparation for your Animagus transformation. This is not just about turning a teapot into a tortoise. It's about understanding how to transform every part of yourself, every bone, every muscle, every organ, into that of an animal."

Seraphina continued, "We'll begin with some transfiguration exercises to ensure that you have the necessary control over your magic. You need to be precise, as even the smallest mistake can have severe consequences."

She waved her wand, and a series of objects appeared on the floor—an ornate goblet, a delicate glass bottle, and a large, ornate mirror. "We'll start with something simple. Transfigure this goblet into a living creature—something small, like a mouse. Focus on the details—the fur, the claws, the whiskers. Precision is key."

Magnus added sternly, "We will accept nothing less than perfection. Your transfiguration must match our instructions exactly. If we tell you to create an animal with striped fur, then it must have striped fur—nothing more, nothing less. Precision and attention to detail are paramount."

Pansy and Bellarose exchanged a brief glance of determination before drawing their wands. Both had mastered basic transfiguration in the past, and this task, while demanding, was well within their capabilities. Bellarose felt the familiar surge of magic as she focused on the goblet before her. She didn't need to imagine the details for long, her mind instinctively guided the transformation.

With a practiced flick of her wand, the goblet began to change. The cool metal surface shimmered and quickly softened, as tiny gray hairs sprouted and spread across the form. The transformation was seamless, almost effortless. In moments, a perfectly formed mouse stood where the goblet had been, its nose twitching as it adjusted to its new life.
