A few days after their initial conversation, Bellarose found herself meeting Fleur in the library. They had agreed to meet in a quiet corner where they wouldn't be disturbed. Bellarose was both excited and nervous. She had promised to help Fleur with the dragons, but she also had many questions about Veela and their powers.
Fleur greeted her with a warm smile. "Bonjour, Bellarose. Thank you for meeting me."
"Of course," Bellarose replied, trying to keep her composure. "I'm happy to help."
They settled into their chairs, and Bellarose spread out her notes on the dragons. "Alright, let's start with the Hungarian Horntail. It's one of the most dangerous dragons. i have though of two way to deal with it first you could use a Conjunctivitis Curse to blind it or maybe an Incarcerous Charm to bind its legs."
Fleur nodded, listening intently. "That makes sense. What about the Swedish Short-Snout?"
Bellarose continued, her enthusiasm for magical creatures shining through. "He is generally less aggressive than other breeds and he has a relatively short flame range, so you could use a Shield Charm to block its fire and then a Stunning Spell to subdue it quickly."
Madame Maxime had clearly taught Fleur well, but Bellarose's insights seemed to provide additional clarity. They moved on to the Chinese Fireball.
"Chinese Fireball, also known as the Liondragon," Bellarose said. " You might try using an Impediment Jinx to slow it down or a Disillusionment Charm to hide yourself."
Finally, they reached the Welsh Green. "The Welsh Green is incredibly quick and agile. Its camouflage is excellent, but it tends to be more docile and less aggressive. You could use a Stunning Spell, but also consider a distraction charm, like the Reductor Curse, to make it focus elsewhere."
Fleur listened with rapt attention, her respect for Bellarose growing. "Your knowledge is impressive, Bellarose. Thank you for sharing these strategies."
Bellarose felt a sense of satisfaction, knowing she had shared useful information. "I'm glad I could help."
Fleur's expression softened as she looked at Bellarose. "You said you had questions for me?"
Bellarose took a deep breath. "Yes, I do. I've been curious about Veela and their charm. From what I've read, it usually affects men, but... I feel like it affects me too. I don't understand why."
Fleur's gaze turned sisterly, her blue eyes filled with understanding. "The Veela allure typically works on the opposite gender, yes. But sometimes, it can work on the same gender when certain conditions are met."
Bellarose frowned, confused. "What kind of conditions?"
Fleur leaned closer, her voice gentle and comforting. "It happens when there is a natural attraction, regardless of gender. The allure amplifies feelings that are already there."
Bellarose's eyes widened as understanding dawned. She felt a whirlwind of emotions but didn't know how to respond. "I... I see," she said finally, feeling a bit overwhelmed. "Thank you for explaining."
Seeing Bellarose's discomfort, Fleur placed a reassuring hand on her arm. "It's okay, Bellarose. You don't have to figure everything out right now."
Bellarose nodded, feeling a bit reassured by Fleur's kindness. "Right, let's get back to the dragons."
They spent the next hour discussing various strategies and spells that Fleur could use during the first task. Fleur was eager to learn, and Bellarose found herself enjoying the exchange of knowledge.
Meanwhile, Pansy's irritation had been growing steadily. She noticed how often Bellarose and Fleur spent time together, and it gnawed at her. She didn't understand why it bothered her so much, but it did.
One afternoon, Bellarose found Pansy waiting for her outside the library. "Hey, Pansy," Bellarose greeted, trying to sound cheerful.
"Hey," Pansy replied curtly. "How's your new best friend, Fleur?"
Bellarose frowned. "She's not my new best friend, Pansy. We're just... getting to know each other."
"Right," Pansy said, rolling her eyes. "It seems like she's all you care about these days."
"That's not true," Bellarose protested. "I care about you and our friendship. I just... have things I need to figure out."
Pansy crossed her arms, her expression cold. "Well, it seems like you're figuring them out with her, not with me."
Bellarose sighed, feeling frustrated. "Pansy, please understand. I'm just trying to help her with the Tournament. And she's helping me understand some things about myself."
Pansy crossed her arms, her expression cold and distant. "Well, it seems like you're figuring them out with her
Bellarose sighed, feeling frustrated. "Pansy, please understand. I'm just trying to help her with the Tournament. And she's helping me understand some things about myself."
Pansy huffed, turning away. "Just don't forget who your real friends are."
As they walked back to the common room, Bellarose felt the tension between them. She knew that her relationship with Pansy was being tested, and she hoped they could find a way to get through it together. The atmosphere was thick with unspoken words and unresolved feelings.
That evening, as they sat by the fireplace in the common room, Bellarose attempted to bridge the gap. "I know things have been weird lately. I don't want us to grow apart."
Pansy remained silent for a moment, her gaze fixed on the fire. "Things change, Bellarose. Maybe you should just focus on your new friends."
Bellarose felt a pang of sadness but knew pressing further wouldn't help. "I just want you to know I still care about our friendship, even if it doesn't seem like it."
Pansy finally looked at her, her expression a mix of frustration and something softer that Bellarose couldn't quite place. "We'll see," she said shortly, before getting up and leaving the common room.
Bellarose watched her go, feeling the weight of the growing distance between them.
