When I woke up the next morning, Alex was already sitting up. He was flipping through channels on the TV, and didn't even notice I was awake. I yawned, and sat myself up next to him. I laid my head on his shoulder.

"I think I'm gonna start working out again," he said. I felt like laughing, but I knew it wouldn't help anything. He moved the blankets off his legs, and got off the bed. I watched him walk over to his bag, and then change clothes. "You wanna come too?"

"Uh, no I think I'm gonna eat something, and then touch up the orange in my hair," I said. I pulled my legs to my chest, and the blankets fell off. Alex sat back down next to me.

"When I get back can you help me dye mine?"

"Are you really gonna go teal?"

"What's wrong with teal?"

"Nothing, I just think it's a drastic change."

"Are you saying you won't love me anymore if I dye my hair teal?" He asked. I knew he was joking around, but I waited to respond. I wanted him to think I was actually considering it.

"No, I think the teal is a good idea," I started. He yelled 'yes,' and high-fived himself. "Because Jack and Rian think you're dead."

"Yeah, that's what I was thinking too," He said. I rolled my eyes, and got off the bed.

"Liar," I claimed.

"Hey!" He yelled. He got off the bed, and walked around to me. He kissed me, and then wrapped his arms around me. "I'm not a liar," He said quietly.

I rested my head on his shoulder and said, "I know." I let him go, and he went down to the gym. I changed clothes, and then went down to breakfast.

There were still cops around, so I still felt safe. I was down there long enough to see them talk to a manager of the hotel, and then leave. I packed up what I was still eating, and ran upstairs.

I finished eating in the room, and then got started on touching up my hair. As I started putting the dye on my roots, I heard the door open. I walked back a couple steps, and saw Alex shut the door.

"Hey," I said. I walked forward again, and continued spreading the dye. Alex walked in, and stood behind me.

"You want help getting the back?" He asked. I said no, and he went to go watch TV. After I had mine in and setting, I opened up Alex's. I had the bleach ready, so that was going on first. He definitely didn't suit bleached hair.

"What?" He asked after I died of laughter. I pointed in the mirror, and he looked. "Put the blue in."

"Are you sure you don't wanna leave it?" I asked. I finally stopped laughing, but he was grumpy. "C'mon, I still love you." I kissed him, and then mixed up the blue dye. I put that in his hair, and then washed out my hair.

After we both had the dyes washed out, we waited for our hair to air dry. We watched TV, and talked a little bit to pass the time. Alex had to take a call too.

We both styled our hair, and then tried to decide where to go for lunch. We started out of the hotel, and towards the back of the parking lot. Our car was so far away. Since the hotel was so big, the parking lot was huge.

We heard a car start following us, and Alex and I both turned around. It was Jack and Rian again. Jack was driving, and Rian started leaning out the window.

Rian started shooting at us from behind. Alex had a tight grip on my hand, and he was pulling me along. I was terrified. I thought I felt something hit my back. I started to slow, but Alex kept pulling.

"Alex," I gasped. I was out of breath, and scared. He pulled me behind a car, and he crouched. I sat down, and moved my hands around to my back. I brought my hands back to the front, and looked at them. There was blood on my fingertips. "Alex," I said, my voice wavering.

"Yeah?" He said quickly. He was watching the car, not looking at me. I felt like I was going to break down. I could feel my eyes watering.

"Alex," I said again. I moved my hands around to my back again.

"What?" He snapped. He looked over at me, and I started lifting my shirt. He looked frustrated and confused. He looked around my back, and I saw his face drop. "No. No, Hayley, no."

I heard his voice crack. I felt his hand on my back. He pulled his shirt over his head, and then pressed it against my back. He helped me lay down, and then held my hand.

"Is this how you feel all the time?" I asked. I could see tears in his eyes. My breathing was abnormal, and I felt like I wasn't getting any air. I reached up, and pushed Alex's bright teal hair out of his face. He shook his head.

"This can't be happening. I need to get you to the hospital," he said. He tried to pull me up. He wanted me to walk to the car, and relax, and live.

"No," I said as I pulled my hand away. "Alex, you need to go. They still don't know you're alive." It was hard to talk, but I needed him to hear it.

"I'm not ready to say goodbye," he said. His voice was so sad, and I could see he was starting to cry. My body was starting to relax, and my mind was clearing. Alex was yelling, but I could see he wasn't leaving.

There were more gunshots, and Alex was hit. He was hit somewhere in the leg, and had to sit down. The car stopped moving, and the shots stopped. I felt myself being pulled away, and I could faintly hear Alex screaming. He was trying to run after me, but he could barely walk.

I felt myself being lifted, and then being put down on something soft. The last thing I saw was Jack's smirking face.
