So this is like 'book two' without actually making a book two. I don't know how much longer this story is going to be. I have an idea of how I want this to go, so maybe it'll end up being longer than I think.
Seven Years Later
"Alex!" Oliver yelled as he ran through the halls of the building. His long legs didn't seem to move quick enough as he raced towards Alex's room. "Alex!" Oli reached the door, and turned the doorknob. He slowly pushed the door open while peeking in. "Alex?"
Oli opened the door all the way and turned the light on. Alex was in his bed, laying on his side. His back was to Oli, which made Oli think he should go check on him. He walked over to the bed slowly, and shook Alex slightly. He shook him a little more, and Alex rolled over. Oli put his fingers on Alex's neck and discovered that he didn't have a pulse. He pulled the blanket back and found a knife through Alex's stomach.
Oli started running back through the halls. The second-in-command, Tay Jardine, was unconscious. She hadn't been fully conscious in years. Once Alex had gained control, he locked Tay up without a second thought. But now Oli needed her guidance.
He scanned his card to unlock the door, and ran out of the hallway with all of the bedrooms. He ran through the hospital part, and at the very end was Tay. He scanned his card again, and ran inside. He ripped all the wires off of her. He went to the sink and filled his cupped hands with water. He threw the water on her face, and tried to wake her up.
"Come on, Tay!" He begged desperately. He lightly slapped her cheeks, doing anything he could think of to get her to wake up.
"Oliver?" She mumbled groggily as she started to come around. She could feel her arms and legs slowly gaining feeling. She could feel the slight numbness slowly warming her limbs.
"We're in a difficult situation," Oli started. He called for a nurse so she could get some food. "Alex is dead for the first time in like six years, and he was running this place. But there's a problem in Europe, so we need you."
"Alex will come back - did you say six years? Alex has only been with us for a year or so," Tay argued. Oli knew he didn't have time to explain six years.
"Just listen, okay? Alex sent a whole bunch of guys over to Europe in search of someone like him. But they're being picked off one by one. We need to get them back over here before they're all gone."
The nurse finally came in with some juice and cookies. Tay drank the small cup of juice and took a bite out of the cookie.
"Do you have contact with them?" She asked. That detail had slipped his mind in his panic.
"Yeah, I guess I can call them up," Oli said. Tay finished her cookie, and Oli helped her out of the chair. She stumbled and almost fell back in the chair. "Whoa," he said quickly as he caught her.
"Take me to Alex," Tay demanded. So Oli put his arm around her and helped her out of the hospital area. He scanned his card again, and the door unlocked. He guided her along until they came to Alex's room.
Tay walked over to Alex on her own, and Oli stayed back. Tay examined the wound in Alex's stomach. She eventually looked back over at Oli.
"Whatever he did to me in that hospital I want done to him. Fucker can miss six years of his life," she demanded. Oli nodded, and picked Alex up. Tay went off to get reacquainted with everyone.
Oli brought Alex to Tay's old hospital room. He sat him in the chair, but didn't hook anything up. Oli knew that Alex had done way better than Tay, but he also knew that this was going to be Alex's chance to get out. Maybe he could reconnect with that girlfriend he'd once had. Or he could search for his family. But whatever he did, he'd better not end up on Tay's radar again.
Oli locked up the hospital room, and waited for Alex to wake. He kind of knew the process, but he hadn't actually seen it happen in about seven years.
He waited and waited, but it wasn't until about midnight that Alex gasped for air as he sat up straighter. He looked from side to side, and then at Oli.
"What's going on?" Alex asked. He was starting to panic. He knew this was Tay's room, and if he was in the chair, where was she?
"You died, and I had to wake Tay, sir. I know it's wrong, but we have an emergency." Oli said. He was desperate to save his name now. But who knew what kind of mood Alex was in.
"What's the emergency?"
"That group you sent over to track that girl you thought couldn't die, well they're all being killed. Vic just said that they're being picked off one by one. I think we need to-"
Alex stood up and unlocked the door while Oli was talking. He walked out without listening to his entire speech. Alex really didn't care about Oli's opinion on the situation. Oli stood up and eventually caught up to Alex again.
"What are you going to do, sir?" Oli asked. He had always hoped that one day he would be second-in-command. It didn't really matter who was first, he just wanted to have some power and control. Especially since he'd been there longer than Alex.
"Where the hell is Rian?"Alex grumbled as he looked into room after room.
"He might be in his room, sir," Oli suggested. Alex started walking faster as he headed towards the door that lead to all of the rooms. He scanned his card, but it was rejected.
"Card," Alex demanded as he stuck his hand out. Oli quickly grabbed his card and placed in Alex's hand. Alex scanned the card, and continued inside. They made it to Rian's room, and Alex stood in the doorway.
"Pack up. We're going to Europe," Alex said with a smirk on his face.
