Hayley's Point of View
I made it back to Alex's parents house and I half expected him to be there. I knew he was still stuck in there with those awful people. Somehow he'd made a deal and gotten me out. I had no idea how that happened.
I opened the front door to an empty hallway. I walked in, and shut the door behind me. I walked forward, my steps being the only sound in the entire house. I tried to control my breathing as I continued down the hall.
"Hello?" I called. I walked towards the stairs and noticed some lights on upstairs. I started up, and ran my hand along the railing as I did. "It's Hayley."
I pushed open one of the doors, and glanced inside. There were boxes piled up all over the room. I flipped the light on, and everything was in the boxes.
I turned around and started to the next room. I went to Alex and I's room, just to see what they'd done with it. Were they going to up and move, and leave Alex behind? How could they do that to their own son?
I pushed the door open, and peeked in. Everything looked the same. I walked in and looked around. Everything was the same except for the closet. Everything that used to be in there was now piled into a bunch of boxes. I sat on the edge of the bed, and looked around. It almost didn't feel like the same room.
I heard footsteps in the hall, and I stood up to see who it was. I stuck my head out, and saw Mrs Gaskarth. I breathed a huge sigh of relief.
"Good, you're here!" She said cheerfully. She came into the room with me and sat me down. "We've gotta make a few changes."
She had a wig for me, and all of Ally's makeup. She helped me fit the wig, and did my makeup for me. She gave me a change of clothes, and then left. I put the clothes on, and then went to find her.
"Can I see your phone?" She asked. I took my phone out of my pocket, and handed it to her. She dropped it in the sink, which was filled with water.
"What the hell?" I asked. She knew I was shocked and a little pissed off.
"I've got a lot of explaining to do and not a lot of time, so listen closely," she started. "Alex has a plan set in place for you. The makeover was just the first part.
We've gotta make your fake ID so you can get on the plane tonight. We're going to put a Jane Doe in, and she'll be you. No one will be able to argue it since this place will be burned to the ground," she stopped and sighed. She looked around at her beautiful home, and then back at me.
"Come on, let's get that ID made," she told me. We went to a room I'd never been in before. They took my picture with the wig and weird makeup on. The makeup completely changed my face. I'd be able to make it through security without a problem.
"Where exactly am I going? And when does Alex join me?" I asked as Mr Gaskarth worked on making the rest of the ID.
"No, no, no. You won't be seeing Alex again. The only way you'll be safe is if you never make contact with him again. When you get away, forget about him," Isobel told me. I felt my heart shatter, but I knew I couldn't do anything.
With the ID printed, and everything packed up, we all stood outside. They were all taking one last look at their house. And then the two parents went in to start the fires.
Ally and I sat in the cars, waiting for them to finish. We could see flames in the windows, and knew it was almost time to go. Isobel got in the car with me and started driving to the airport.
"So what are you guys going to do?" I asked. I looked over at her, and her focus was on the road.
"On the move again," she shrugged. "They knew where we were living. They kept tracking your phone and they found us all."
"Wait, they were tracking my phone?" I almost yelled. I didn't even know they could do that. Alex had done it because our phones were linked somehow. But these random people were tracking my every move.
"Don't worry. You'll be safe where you're going. They should never find you."
I was quiet for the rest of the ride. I had so many more questions, but I knew she wouldn't answer them. If there was anything else she wanted to tell me, she would have told me already.
I got out of the car, grabbed the bag she put together for me, and then walked into the airport. I got out my ticket, and then started to go through security. After I made it through everything, I went and sat at my gate. I had about three hours until the plane was leaving. I knew the Gaskarths wanted to get moving, so I wasn't going to ask them to stick around longer.
I read a letter that Alex wrote. It was basically his quickly written plan for me.
Hay
Full makeover. Wigs, makeup, that contour stuff? Have Ally do it. New ID so no one can find her.
Get rid of the phone. No contact with me.
Ticket to Essex.
Tell her I love her. I'm gonna miss her so much.
I put the scrap piece of paper away and tried not to cry. Everything was so emotional. They finally said we could board the plane, and I got on. I had a few more hours to figure out what the hell I was going to do when I got to this new place.
A/N: so I know this chapter really, really sucks. I don't know what my problem was when I was writing it but man it's not good. I promise the next couple ones are amazing. And if you don't think so then you have my full permission to come after me.
