in the next room

Alex's Point of View

I woke up to super bright lights. I tried moving my hands to cover my eyes, but they were tied down. I tried to pull against them, but it wasn't working. I groaned, and kicked against whatever I was laying on. I could only hope that Hayley wasn't here.

"Hey! Get me out of here," I yelled. I kept yelling, and kicking my feet against whatever I was laying on. "Rian!"

A door opened, and I looked up. Rian walked in, the door slamming shut behind him. He walked towards me. He didn't say anything, just stared. "Alex..."

"What the fuck is going on?" I yelled. I tried to pull my arms up again, but the ties were just rubbing into my wrists. "Where's Hayley?"

"Would you stop yelling?" Rian yelled. I gave him a look.

"You're being hypocritical."

"Just... shut up!" He screamed. It echoed throughout the empty room, and I stopped talking. I just watched Rian pace slightly. "I came in here because I have instructions to take you somewhere. Just, go along with it."

He took the ties off, and kept a grip on my arm. I walked along with him because there was no point in fighting. We didn't walk far, and then he threw me into a dark room. The lights slowly turned on, and there was a couch in front of me. A girl was standing up, looking out at something. As I got closer, I realized the one wall was entirely glass. The girl turned to look at me.

"Alexander Gaskarth, it's been a while," she said. She crossed her arms over her chest, and I just stood there with my mouth agape. "What? Don't you remember me?"

She sat down on the couch, and glanced back out at whatever was on the other side of the glass. She patted the couch, and I sat down slowly.

"I can't believe it. What are you doing here Tay?" I asked. Taylor Jardine was sitting next to me. I hadn't even seen her since I left Baltimore.

She sighed, and the lights in the other room came on. A door opened, and a couple guys dragged Hayley in. I jumped up, and stood as close as I could to the glass.

"What's going on?" I asked. They put her in a chair thing like the one I woke up in. They tied her arms and legs down, and then left. I hit the glass, but she didn't even notice.

"I know you've got a thing for Hayley Williams, but I don't," Tay said. I turned around and looked at her. I looked down as I started to make connections.

"Are you behind all of this?" I yelled. Tay smiled, and tilted her head.

"Surprise," she whispered. I turned back around, and watched Hayley. I rested my forehead against the glass, and sighed. My hands were pressed as much as they could to the glass. I just wanted to be with her.

"You see, my family has tracked your family since the beginning," Tay said. I didn't have the balls right now to face her. They knew who my weak spot was, and they had her. They were dangling her right in front of me. "I've been looking for you since you left Baltimore. Got help from Rian and Jack, and managed to find you in Tennessee with Williams."

I was listening, but I wasn't gonna show her. Someone came out in the room, and walked over to Hayley. They also brought a cart out with them. It was full of weapons or some various kinds of medical tools. Hayley started freaking out.

"I'm sorry you have to watch this. Actually I'm not.  I told them to do that to Hayley, and I told them to bring you here to watch. Come on, sit next to me and watch."

I stayed standing, and I watched Hayley closely. The person in there was looking through the cart of weapons. I watched him pick something up, and run it down the back of her arm. She screamed, and tried to move her arm, but it was tied down.

"Why are you hurting her? I thought you guys just wanted our blood," I yelled. I turned around, and looked at Tay as I spoke.

"Because I like seeing her suffer. And because I wanted to see you pissed off."

I couldn't watch that guy hurt Hayley anymore. I sat back on the couch, and looked at Tay. I did have a lot of questions for her. I didn't know if she'd answer them, but I wasn't going anywhere. She had me, and Hayley, and there was no one to save us.

"Another reason is because you killed Jack. Maybe if you hadn't, things would be different." I looked out at the other room. I figured they probably couldn't see or hear us, but we could see and hear them.

Whoever was in there ripped open Hayley's thigh, and I had to look away again. Tay reached over, and tilted my head back towards Hayley. My heart was beating super fast, and I thought I might throw up.

"Tay... please make him stop," I begged. My voice cracked somewhere in there too. Tay's expression didn't change though. She didn't care about Hayley or I. I watched Hayley, and my heart just kept sinking. "What do you want? If you want immortality, you can drain me. Take it all, just don't keep hurting her."

"I want more than the immortality. I want your grandparents' journals on all of this. I wanna know everything they knew," Tay said. She had her arms folded over her chest. I couldn't give her those journals. I hadn't even read through most of them yet. Who knew what kind of information they had in there.

"I can't get them if I'm chained up in here," I said. I turned around and put my back against the glass. I put one foot over the other, and tried to think.

"And you can't call home because they'll trace the call. I can't go with you because they'll know something's up... I'll come up with something," she assured. I didn't want her to do anything. She looked out at the other room, and told me to do so too. "The grand finale."

I turned around, and watched the person send something straight through Hayley's stomach. She screamed out, and cried. But she wouldn't be in pain for long because she was going to die. We all stood there and watched her die. Her screaming had become nonexistent, and the tears rested on her cheeks.

Tay personally escorted me back to my room. She told me she'd meet with me again later before locking me away again. I couldn't get the images of Hayley's brutal attack out of my head. I'd seen a lot of shit in the past nineteen years, but that was the worst. I wouldn't wish that upon my worst enemy. And that's saying a lot since she's the one that gave the orders.
