~{Chapter 99}~*This chapter is about when Brainy and Nia Nal go undercover together in taking down an dangerous mob boss mastermind in selling illegal drugs by attending an Masquerade Ball as an couple/partners in doing some secret undercover work as heroes to bust the bad guys and save the day like always in combining their alien powers of getting the job "done" right. But their plan backfired when the mob boss who is an women recognized them at her party and knew that they weren't on the list because this event was a private ball between friends & families and trusted partnerships. Alex and John got an request from the chief of N.C. police to help with an investigation of an criminal organization that has been making illegal drugs to steal alien powers/abilities and turn them into weapons or even give them to humans in their trusted circles. They  suggested in the D.E.O. & Superfriends and the police working together on this case but need two to go undercover at an Masquerade Ball that is taking place tonight downtown where the boss of the organization will make an appearance. Director Danvers and her co-Director John Jonzz & Kara already had the two people who would be right for this mission to go to go undercover... and that is Querl Dox (Brainy) Nia Nal Dreamer) since they work so well together in the field when fighting bad guys as "Partners"! So, they asked their two friends to meet them at the *tower* to discuss an important mission for them to go undercover alone and explained the whole thing in detain. "Wait, so, you want me and Brainy to go undercover at an masquerade ball tonight at 8:00 p.m. sharp to find the mob boss and stop her." Nia questioned stating the obvious of what Alex, Kara, and John wanted to do. "Yes. Exactly! Nia, You two would be the "perfect" partners for this undercover mission in catching this rogue alien. Besides, you're a journalist, and Brainy's skills of reduction and intel." Alex stated. "Okay, that checks out. I'm 100% in on this mission!" Brainy replied. "Yeah, same I'm in!" Nia added. "Great! That's what I'd like to hear from you two. Here's your tickets to get in and this is the criminal mastermind that you'll need to look for... her real name is Melissa Rose. Be careful She's very dangerous." Kara said to them in handing them both their invitations in order to get into the ball undetected while showing an physical picture of the criminal mastermind that they'll be looking for. "Right!" Nia and Brainy said loudly in unison of understanding what to do on their undercover mission. After that, they left the tower to get ready while Alex armed them with secret gadgets and weapons to use in case if their cover got blown😅.

*At night🌃, in the Masquerade Ball Event*
*8:00 p.m.*
"Well, this is it." Nia added once they both made it inside the ball. "Yes, sure looks promising... but I bet that this place is crawling with criminals." Brainy said softly into her ear in an low pitched volume of his voice so, that none of the guests here would suspect them for being heroes undercover. "Yeah, I agree. Brainy," Nia said softly in agreement with her boyfriend on that subject. Then, classical slow dance music began to play! "May I have this dance? Nia Nal," Brainy asked his girlfriend sweetly in a gentlemen way while offering her his hand if she wanted to dance with him. "Wait, right now? (Whispers into his ear) shouldn't we be focusing on the mission?" Nia said with an question. "We may be on an stealth undercover mission... Nia, but we have to play the part and blend in with the crowd. Besides, it's been a while since we danced together at an event like this and it could be an 90% of fun." Querl Dox whispered into Nia Nal's ear in making an logical point. She smiled at him and took his hand as they danced. "You're right. This is nice. Dancing with you like this, I kinda missed it." Nia said. "Yeah, me too." Brainy replied to his girlfriend sweetly as he slowed danced with her while spinning Nia into his arms. During the ball, they stopped dancing with each other for a moment to catch their breath and hydrate to act like an normal couple. Which they are but still. "I'm gonna use my astral projection to see if I can spot the woman that we're looking for and
without it looking obvious." Nia said. "That's brilliant. But not here we can't make it look obvious that you fell asleep... (grabs her hands and then escorts Nia out of the ballroom area into the back room where hardly anyone is...) come with me," Brainy suggested smartly. Brainy said giving her the signal that it was safe to use her dreaming powers in going into *Astral projection mode*. Then, Nia closed her eyes in doing just that as her physical body was in an dream state and Brainy was holding her. "Good luck, Nia Nal," he said to her in a soft voice in sensing that she was in her spiritual form and wanted her to hear him. And she did! Nia smiled as she walked passed Brainy in her *astral projection form* and then heard a voice and saw the woman as she got closer to casually listening in on the conversation with one of the buyers who was interested in what kind of drug she was selling. "So, Miss Rose tell me more about this product or drug that you're selling. My interest has peeked... Name your price and the money is yours." He said striking her a deal. "This drug is different from others that you're familiar with Mr. Edgar... allow me to demonstrate by giving you a sample to see what it does and how it works." she said. Then, he drank it as all the scars on his body were cured in an instant! "Astonishing. A drug that heals all injuries. You've got to tell me what is your "secret" ingredient. Melissa," Mr. Edgar said wanting answers to how this drug is "possible". She smiled waving her finger in the air saying. "I'll never tell." She said. "Well, I suppose that's fair but it is a deal. I'll take 20 of them. So, how much?" he asked softly offering her money💵no matter what the price was because money wasn't an problem for him since he was so much of it her being a millionaire mob boss in "Star🏙City". "Very well, then. That'll be 1,000 dollars." Melissa Rose replied. Moments later, Nia gasped awake back in her physical body when discovered the *truth*. "Nia, are you "okay"? Brainy asked with concern for his girlfriend safety and wondering what she saw. "Yes, I'm fine. Brainy, but I got some infoℹ️on Melissa Rose... apparently she's selling an illegal drug with healing properties and just sold 20 of them in stock to the first buyer." Nia replied her boyfriend explaining to him what exactly she heard and seen when in her astral projection form. "Selling an illegal healing drug. This is really bad. If that get out on the black market criminals will have the upper hand on us. I have to contact Alex right away to send backup." Brainy replied taking out his phone from his jacket pocket. Melissa Rose overhead their conversation and signaled her bodyguards to deal with them. "You two are coming with us," Bobby & Ryan said to them in unison as an threat knocking Brainy and Nia out by injecting a strong dose of roofie liquid form into their arms as they were unconscious. Then, they dragged them out of the ballroom and into an secret room.
