The trip was long but soon finding themselves back before Cair Paraval's Northern gates, Y/N couldn't help but smile and she certainly wasn't the only one.
A crowd had gathered before the doors and upon the stairs, cheering and smiling as they watched the kings, queens and noble fighters stop before the stairs.
Peter, Caspian, Edmund, Lucy and Y/N all step down from their horses and give the crowd a smile and a wave.
Well, not all waved.
At the corner of his eye, Edmund noticed Y/N standing a few paces behind the rest of them, just smiling and nothing more.
As the crowd where continuing their cheers and chants to the kings Peter and Caspian and to the queen Lucy, king Edmund managed to sneak back a bit and gently nudge Y/N, leaning his head down a bit towards her.
"Everything alright?" He asks in a whsiper. "I can imagine this being rather overwhelming at first...it was for me."
Y/N gives him a smile and shakes her head.
"I'm alright, this isn't my moment. Their kings and queen have returned and won the day, it's your time." She explains, giving him a tap on his arm.
Surprisingly to Y/N, Edmund only smirked as his eyebrows raised before saying "It's not just our time...listen."
Y/N looks at him again before turning back to the crowd, trying to focus on what the crowd were now saying.
It took her a moment but then...
"All hail Princess Y/N!"
"Hurrah! Princess Y/N!"
Her eyes widened.
Princess? Her?
She couldn't quite believe what she was hearing.
Looking to Edmund for any ounce of explanation was futile as he was just smiling as were Peter, Caspian and Lucy who were now joining in with the crowd to chant her name.
She felt her cheeks getting warm and flushing red, this was embarrassing to be at the centre of such attention; Also being called a princess no less.
She did her best to smile and wave, not quite knowing what to do in such an unusual moment until the Narnians began to ease their chants and let them into Cair.
Upon stepping into Cair Paraval, it felt as though they had returned home. It was a strange feeling for Y/N but she felt as though she had lived here forever despite this being her first time in Narnia.
"Let's head upstairs for a while. As i understand the Narnians insisted we celebrate our victory with a celebration in the ballroom in a short while." Peter says with a smile.
Everyone was quite happy with the idea and with a nod they all then went to their separate rooms.
----
Shutting the door to her room, Y/N falls back on her bed, taking a rather deep breath that was filled with pure relief.
This is the first time she had properly rested on a comfy surface in a long time and she wanted to enjoy every moment before she was to get changed for the celebration downstairs.
While lying there however, she began to think on all that had happened.
She couldn't quite believe the journey she had been on. She had traversed the majority of Narnia and even crossed to the empty and near forgotten land of Charn.
As that thought passed her mind she instantly thought of her mother.
She wished their time together was longer....
