The sun was high above the clouds and watching on as mumbling passed through the halls and outside the Western gate of Cair, the air warm but as tense as ever.

Narnians parted ways as Y/N and the kings and queen of Narnia walked side by side down the grand hallways and towards the gate, blades on their waists as they moved on further to where an all too familiar threat waited patiently, her gaze as cold as ever.

Soon the grand doors of the Western gate opened and the five of them stepped out into the now warm and more welcoming Narnia, the Narnia they knew and loved so dearly.

Silence had fallen on all as they stopped at the top of the stairs, Peter gently making sure Edmund and Lucy were safe behind him.

Y/N was stood beside Caspian, noticing his stern gaze as he looked at Jadis who was stood not far from the bottom of the stone steps leading up to the gate.

"What a lovely suprise to see you two here." She says, humour on her lips as she spoke to Peter and Lucy.

Tilting her head to see Edmund, she smiles and speaks again.

"You did not tell me they were coming Edmund....this will make things all the more interesting."

Edmund moved his hand towards the hilt of his sword but Peter gently grabbed his wrist briefly to stop him, which it did.

Turning back to Jadis, Peter looks down at her with sterness as he naturally fell into his role as high king once again.

"Why are you here?" He demands, keeping his breathing steady as he waited for an answer.

"I think you know why Peter dear."

His eyes glanced towards Edmund for but a moment as Jadis smiled.

Grabbing the hilt of his sword, Peter looked at her once again.

"You aren't to take him, he will not die on your table of injustice!"

Despite his raised voice, Jadis was undeterred which was rather unsurprising to everyone.

"Do you really think that raising your voice and insulting my work will change my plans? You must know me far too little..."

Turning her gaze to Edmund once more, she smiles again.

"Edmund however, he knows what must be done....don't you dear one?"

"Don't you dare speak to him! He has had enough of you and quite frankly so have i!" Peter then shouts, pulling out his sword.

"Pete!"

Y/N, Caspian and Lucy's eyes had turned to Edmund after hearing him shout Peter's name, seeing him grab Peter's arm to stop him.

After a moment Edmund let go and moved infront of Peter, taking one step down the stone steps before them.

His eyes were locked onto hers, just as hers were locked onto his, a tense and serious staring contest that felt as though it could go on forever until slowly, Jadis outstretched her hand towards him.

"Edmund, you know what i can do, what i have done, how powerful Narnia was under my care...you can be a part of that you know...we can set aside our past and i will let you rule, like i promised you all those years ago."

He didn't want to show it on his face but Edmund was confused, though he knew it was all a farce, he knew her too well.

As his eyes glanced slowly down to her hand then back to her face, he took a moment to think.

Perhaps this was his chance, for the good of Narnia.

Taking a deep breath, he began to take steps forward, the others watching on in horror and confusion.

Peter tried to run down and stop him but Jadis looked at him sternly, making him freeze, worried that she may harm Edmund if he stepped any closer.

Her eyes certainly spoke louder than words in that moment.

Turning her gaze back to Edmund, she gave him a smile as he moved closer, his eyes glancing between her hand and face.

Y/N was particularly watching intently at what was happening.

She had a feeling that Edmund was up to something, she couldn't really explain why but, she knew him and knew him well.

Edmund approched closer and closer until he was stood right in front of her.

He took a moment to look down before reaching up and taking her hand.

But as he did though, he moved swiftly and he looked up as Jadis's eyes widened and she looked down at him, a deep red beginning to stain her dress.

Continuing to look up at her, his eyes narrowed and expression still quite serious, he kept his once hidden blade deep in her stomach, his hand going from cold to warm as some of her blood had trailed down the blade and onto his hand.

He felt the coldness as her free hand moved over his which was wielding the blade, moving to pry it out but out of anger he pushes harder, making her gasp.

"Now you know exactly what you have put me through....you did nothing but tear Narnia away from those who call it home. You have no right being queen, you never did. I may be a traitor in your eyes but no one else's, not anymore. Traitors can mend and i will prove time and time again that i have changed unlike you. You call me a traitor but you are the true traitor to this country. Once a traitor, always a traitor right? Is that not what you told me?"

As she listened, her eyes were angry and Edmund could see it but he was not scared of her anymore, he knew what was right.

He knew he had been long since forgiven.

"You....silly....boy.....you think you have won hmm?....i thought you knew me better than that..."

Suddenly Edmund jolts as his eyes widen, feeling a sharp pain right where his scar was.

As he looked down he saw her wand, stabbed into his side, exactly where his scar was.

As blood began to drip and fall, his eyes flashed with memories of Beruna and he could hear Peter shout his name.

While Edmund thought this was part of his flashing memory, it was in fact happening right this moment all around him.

Around them the space had errupted into chaos. Narnians and Jadis's ice soldiers with her other remaining followers charged at one another, a fierce battle ensuing as Y/N, Caspian, Lucy and Peter all charged in with their own blades, moving towards Edmund to save him.

Just as they all ran into the radius though, Jadis then smiled as she used what strength she had left to summon a small snow storm which began to surround them all as she pulled away from Edmund, pushing him to the ground as everyone felt a jolt and to their suprise, utter darkness as the sounds of battle faded away from all of their ears....
