As they rode away, Y/N often looked back over her shoulder.

Her eyes would glance first at Edmund, seeing him lying his head against her back which made her smile.

He looked at peace, breathing calmly.

Her eyes would then gaze towards the forest behind them, her face forming a frown as she thought of those brave Narnians, risking their lives for the three of them.

While the two of them breathed their own breaths of relief, Caspian himself was keeping his eyes forward, occasionaly making sure his horse was running alongside him as he was doing with them.

"Not too far from Cair now my friends!" He says to the both of them, not realising Edmund was asleep.

Y/N had felt Edmund stir a little against her back but he continued his well deserved rest...

--Cair Paraval--

Both Peter and Lucy had been welcomed back to Cair with cheers and joy, the Narnians now feeling an extra sense of safety with another king and queen of old on their side once again.

After the excitement had calmed down, the both of them were given warm clothes and food to eat, which they both enjoyed immensely after their trek through the snow.

It was rather late in the night now but despite this, Peter was still awake.

Lucy and himself had since been sat in a study that had a large window which looked over the northern gate, waiting anxiously to see when Caspian would return with both Edmund and
Y/N safe.

Peter was still wide awake though and a smile briefly grew on his face as he noticed Lucy had fallen asleep leaning against his shoulder.

Glancing over his shoulder his eyes had locked on a small sofa behind them before looking back at Lucy.

Then, gently standing up while making sure she didn't fall, he moved her to the sofa, lying her down where she shifted a little as her body made contact with the new surface.

Giving her one last gentle smile, he then turns back around and goes back to sitting on the windowseat, watching intently at the forest before him, waiting to see their safe return.

........
...

Almost an hour had passed and Peter was beginning to get worried.

The snow was thick and fell gently past the window as Peter began to feel weighed down by his worry, crushing him further as every minute passed.

It soon faded though and shifted into pure relief when he saw the familiar silhouette of Caspian and his horse in the distance, two figures now on the horse that was moving from the forest and towards the gate.

Getting up he gently shakes Lucy awake and gives her a relieved smile as she sits up, rubbing her eyes.

"They're back Lu!" He says, his excitement mixed with relief evident within his tone and plastered across his face.

You wouldn't have known Lucy was asleep a few moments ago as she jumped up.
She was now wide awake and swiftly began to run down towards the north gate entrance, closely followed by Peter.

It took them mer moments to reach the North doors and they did so just as the grand doors began to open, Caspian breathing heavily as he had since slowed himself to walking pace, as did the horse.

As they gave both Caspian and Y/N a smile, said smiles faded slightly as they spotted Edmund lying against Y/N's back.

"It's alright you two, he's just asleep." Caspian says, stopping the horse.
