That night, after a few rounds of boardgames and plenty of laughter, Krishna settled into the guest bedroom while Vrindha and Krithi snuggled into Vrindha's room. The rain continued to pour outside, creating a soothing backdrop as the two girls chatted softly, the warmth of their bond wrapping around them like a comforting blanket.

As they lay in the dim light, Krithi turned on her side by propping her head up on her hand.

Krithi : So, what's the deal with you and Krishna ?

she asked with a teasing glint in her eyes.

Vrindha's heart raced.

Vrindha : What do you mean ?

she replied by trying to sound nonchalant but the weight of Krithi's question hung in the air.

Krithi : You know exactly what I mean.

Krithi pressed and her voice is playful yet serious.

Krithi : You've been acting all nervous since he got here. Any sort of feelings for my brother ?

Vrindha felt her cheeks flush as she rolled onto her back by staring up at the ceiling.

Vrindha : I.... I don't know, Krithi. It's complicated.

Vrindha : Complicated how ?

Krithi  prodded by shifting closer and her expression is a mix of curiosity and concern.

Krithi : He's not just Arjun's best friend.  he's someone who genuinely cares about you. Someone for whom you are extremely important. Don't you see that ?

The admission made Vrindha's heart skip.

Vrindha : Yeah, I know he cares.

she murmured but her thoughts are drifting back to the way he looked at her, the warmth in his smile that made her heart race.

Vrindha : But what if he doesn't feel the same way ?  What if I ruin our friendship ? What if he holds something that is just platonic ?

Krithi rolled her eyes and her voice is filled with affection and frustration.

Krithi : You're overthinking it. You have to tell him how you feel. Otherwise, you're just going to keep spiraling into what-ifs.

Vrindha : But it's not that simple.

Vrindha sighed by  turning to face krithi.

Vrindha : I don't want to risk losing him. He's been such an important part of my life. What if he doesn't want something more than friendship ?

Krithi's expression softened and she reached out, placing a reassuring hand on Vrindha's arm.

Krithi : You won't know unless you try. Besides, you deserve to be happy. If there's even a chance that he feels the same way, don't you want to find out ?
