Just then, Padmamma, Govind's mother, entered the room sensing the tension. She immediately aligned herself with her son.

Padmamma : Govind is right. We cannot ignore our commitments, especially one made to a friend in his final moments.

She said sternly.

Krithi, who had just walked in felt the weight of the conversation.

Krithi : But Nanna , I tried to talk to anna about this he didn't listen to me. He really cares about Vrindha ! Even Vrindha loves him a lot.

Govind turned sharply, his frustration spilling over.

Govind : Krishna needs to understand that this is about more than just his feelings. He's being selfish! Falling in love with someone outside of our plans for him.

Padmamma nodded in agreement, her voice steady.

Padmamma : Exactly. We have to think about what's best for the family and keep Raju's promise.

Lakshmi's expression faltered as she is  caught between her husband and her son.

Lakshmi : But what about Krishna's happiness ? Shouldn't we at least discuss it with him ? He is in love with Vrindha from years it seems. Won't he become broken ? He just got the chance of expressing his love few days ago.

Govind's face hardened as he spoke.

Govind : No, Lakshmi. We need to be clear about our obligations. This isn't just a casual relationship for him. It's about our commitment to Meera and Raju's family.

Govind said adamantly. Krithi stepped closer with concern etched on her face.

Krithi : Nanna ! Krishna deserves a say in this. He's not just a pawn in your promises!

Govind shot her a frustrated look.

Govind : This is about honour and responsibility, Krithi ! If he had thought things through, he wouldn't have let himself fall in love so recklessly !

Padmamma crossed her arms and  her voice is firm.

Padmamma :  We need to protect our family's interests. It's time Krishna understands that.

Lakshmi felt the weight of Govind's words and Padmamma's support, knowing they were set in their ways. She hated her husband for being extremely stubborn about his decision.

Lakshmi :  I understand your point, but we still need to consider how Krishna feels.

Govind took a deep breath and the internal conflict is evident but overshadowed by his determination.

Govind : I'll talk to Krishna.  But we have to make it clear.  our obligations come first.

Govind's adamance and Padmamma's support left little room for negotiation, and Krithi feared for her brother's heart as they faced an uncertain future.
