Krishna turned to Vrindha with a smile. After showing the flat.
Krishna : I'll head out to get some necessary items for our formal housewarming.
He said and his tone is casual yet filled with excitement.
Krishna : I don't think we need to host a big party just yet. Just a simple gathering for us and our close family.
Vrindha nodded in agreement and a warm feeling is spreading in her chest. The thought of a cozy, intimate gathering felt right for their new beginning.
Vrindha : That sounds perfect.
she replied and her mind is already buzzing with ideas for what to prepare.
Krishna : Great ! I'll take care of it.
Krishna said with a look of determination on his face.
Krishna : In the meantime, you should freshen up before I return.
He gestured toward his luggage, which lay neatly packed in the corner of the living room.
Krishna : I made sure to stuff some soaps, shampoo, and other toiletries in there.
Curious, Vrindha walked over to his bag and unzipped it. To her surprise, it was meticulously organized. Each item was thoughtfully arranged, from neatly folded clothes to toiletries in small pouches. Among the items, she spotted a white sub bag tucked away at the side. Intrigued, she pulled it out and opened it, revealing bars of soap and a travel-sized bottle of shampoo.
Grabbing her own clothes from her bag , she decided it was the perfect opportunity to take a refreshing shower after the long day.
Vrindha : I'll be quick.
she called out while heading towards the bathroom.
As she washed away the remnants of the day, she found her thoughts drifting to her mangalsutra, the traditional necklace symbolizing her marriage. It hung around her neck, a tangible reminder of their vows. Every time she caught a glimpse of it, a flutter of emotion swelled within her. It is a feeling of happiness, responsibility, and the thrill of embarking on this new journey together.
Once she finished her shower, she stood in front of the mirror, towel wrapped around her. As she delicately applied moisturiser on her body , her eyes fell on her mangalsutra again. There was something powerful about it. It is a symbol of their commitment, a bond that felt both sacred and exhilarating.
Feeling refreshed and energized, she dried her hair and slipped into comfortable clothes. When she stepped out of the bathroom, she spotted Krishna standing in the balcony and his phone is pressed to his ear. He is in a relaxed posture that somehow radiated confidence.
Walking quietly over to him, she leaned against the doorframe, taking in the view of their neighbourhood. Krishna was engaged in conversation, his expression are thoughtful as he listened to whoever was on the other end. She couldn't help but admire how comfortable he seemed in this space. He looked like a natural leader ready to tackle any challenge.
As he finished his call, he turned to her with a bright smile lighting up his face. He wrapped his arm around her shoulders and pulled her close. She leaned her head against him, feeling the warmth of his body as she wrapped her arms around his torso, embracing the moment.
Krishna : I was just talking to Arjun.
he said by glancing down at her.
Krishna : He wanted to make sure that his sister is comfortable.
Vrindha replied by feeling grateful for the support of their families.
Vrindha : It must be overwhelming for him too.
Krishna : Yes ! He's been busy with work, but he's excited to come over tomorrow.
Krishna said and his tone is shifting to something more serious.
Krishna : and guess what ? I don't have any cases to deal with this week. I'll be able to focus on sorting everything out here at home.
Vrindha looked up at him with her heart swelling with happiness .
Vrindha : That's great ! It'll give us time to settle in.
Krishna : Speaking of which, how many days did you apply for leave ?
Krishna asked with curiosity evident in his voice.
Vrindha : Just two days.
she said without a hint of regret in her tone.
Vrindha : I need to get back to work day after tomorrow. But at least I'll have Saturday and Sunday to relax and spend time with you.
Krishna raised an eyebrow.
Krishna : Work ? You mean being the district magistrate of Rangareddy district ?
he teased by trying to lighten the mood.
Krishna : I thought you were going to take a break from your superhero duties !
Vrindha chuckled by appreciating his playful spirit.
Vrindha : Well, it's not that easy. I'm currently under consideration for a transfer by the government.
she explained and her expression is becoming serious.
Vrindha : It could mean a significant change for my career, and I want to be prepared for whatever comes next.
Krishna nodded with respect filling his gaze.
Krishna : You're doing incredible work, and I know how dedicated you are. But remember to take time for us, too.
Vrindha : I will.
she promised and her voice is softening. She felt an undeniable bond forming as they stood together, two individuals embarking on a shared journey filled with challenges, laughter, and love.
