As Krishna leaned against the kitchen counter by holding Vrindha close, his mind drifted back to a day that felt like a lifetime ago. It was a day filled with tension and heartache, one he had hoped to forget but couldn't shake.
He recalled how he had approached his father, Govind, with a heavy heart, ready to apologize for the way things had unfolded.
Krishna : Nanna !
He had started and his voice is steady yet filled with uncertainty.
Krishna : I know you're upset about my decision to marry Vrindha so quickly. I just wanted to say I'm sorry if it hurt you.
Govind's reaction had been swift and cutting.
Govind : You're sorry ?
he had snapped with his eyes narrowing.
Govind : You should be ashamed. You disobeyed my wishes and married that girl instead of Meera. You've brought nothing but shame to me.
The harshness of his father's words echoed in Krishna's mind.
Krishna : I didn't mean to....
Govind : Enough !
Govind had interrupted and his voice is rising.
Govind : Don't talk to me about this again. I don't want to hear it. You've made your choice, and now you can live with the consequences. I don't bother about you anymore.
The sting of rejection had hit Krishna hard, leaving him feeling isolated and hurt. The disappointment in his father's eyes was something he could never forget. It was a reminder of how deeply his choice had affected their relationship. He had made his own decision, one he felt was right for him, but the weight of his father's anger felt like a mountain on his shoulders.
Now, as he stood in the kitchen with Vrindha, that memory resurfaced, mingling with the joy of their current situation. He looked down at her, her presence a balm to his troubled thoughts.
Vrindha : Hey ! What happened ?
she said softly by noticing his distant expression.
Krishna : Just... remembering the conversation I had with my dad.
Krishna admitted, his voice tinged with sadness.
Krishna : It's hard to shake off that feeling of disappointment. He was so harsh with me.
Vrindha tightened her grip around him.
Vrindha : You made the right choice for yourself and for us. You have to remind yourself of that. Family can be difficult sometimes.
Krishna : I know.
He sighed.
Krishna : But hearing him say he didn't want to bother with me anymore still hurts. I never meant to make him feel ashamed.
