Krishna strode into the canteen and his shoulders are heavy with the weight of the morning's court proceedings. He spotted Arjun sitting at a corner table by holding a file. Without a word, Krishna plopped down across from him with the chair scraping against the tiled floor.
Arjun looked up, surprised by his brother-in-law's abruptness.
Arjun : Rough day ?
he asked by raising an eyebrow.
As if on cue, a steaming glass of tea was placed in front of Arjun. Krishna snatched it up, holding the hot glass against his forehead for a moment, savoring the heat.
Krishna : Ah, just what I needed.
He murmured by downing the tea in a few quick gulps.
Arjun watched, bemused.
Arjun : You know that's not how you're supposed to drink tea, right ?
Krishna shrugged, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand.
Krishna : It works for me.
He waved for another cup.
Arjun : So, how's the case going ?
Arjun asked by leaning forward.
Arjun : You looked pretty intense about that.
Krishna mumbled something unintelligible, and Arjun squinted, trying to catch his words.
Arjun : What ?
Krishna suddenly shifted gears.
Arjun : What happened in your hearing yesterday ? What about your case ?
Arjun sighed by running a hand through his hair.
Arjun : It was an accident case. The two parties just abruptly compromised. I was ready to argue, but they settled before I could even open my mouth. Money matters a lot !
Krishna snorted, a sarcastic smile creeping onto his face.
Krishna : That's convenient. Some people just want to sweep things under the rug, huh ?
Arjun : Yeah, apparently.
Arjun replied by shaking his head.
Arjun : But you know how it is. Sometimes it's just easier for them. I wonder why they hired me k the first place.
Krishna glanced at the clock on the wall, realizing he had to get going.
Krishna : I should head back. Busy day ahead at home too.
He said by pushing himself up from the table.
Arjun : Alright, take care, man.
Arjun replied by watching Krishna leave.
