The following morning dawned early for Krishna, who set off for court with a sense of purpose. He felt a mix of determination and anxiety as he prepared to face not only his legal cases but also the impending conversation with his father that loomed over him. He kissed Vrindha goodbye and her sleepy eyes were sparkling with encouragement as she wished him luck.
After he left, Vrindha busied herself in getting ready for the day. As she stepped into the office, a wave of somberness washed over her. Her colleagues were unusually quiet, their expressions downcast. Concerned, she approached them.
Vrindha : What's going on ? Why does everyone look so sad ?
One of her colleagues, Riya, hesitated before responding.
Riya : Didn't you check your email this morning, ma'am ?
Furrowing her brow, Vrindha quickly pulled out her phone and opened her email. As she scrolled through the messages, her heart sank when she saw the notification. She was being transferred to a new position. She is now the GHMC Commissioner. The news hit her like a thunderbolt, leaving her in a state of shock. Mixed emotions surged within her and excitement battled with anxiety as she processed the implications of such a significant promotion.
Riya : congratulations ma'am ! This is a huge opportunity. You're the youngest person to be appointed in that post. But we're going to miss you.
Riya said with a hint of sadness.
Vrindha : Yeah, it is...
Vrindha murmured as she is still trying to grasp the news. She had just settled into her current role, and now she was being thrust into a much higher position with added responsibilities. It would mean a substantial change in her daily life, and she would have to take on challenges that she hadn't anticipated so soon.
