Vrindha : Tragic ? Is that what you're calling it ?
she giggled as she is unable to hold back her amusement.
Vrindha : More like melodramatic ! If you keep this up, I might need to send you a care package. some snacks and a little love note to keep you going.
Krishna : Please do !
he exclaimed with feigning desperation.
Krishna : I need reminders of your love to survive the day. My heart can't handle much separation !
Vrindha shook her head with a smile still on her face.
Vrindha : You do realize it's only been a few hours since I left, right ? You're not exactly in exile.
Krishna Every hour feels like a day without you.
He said dramatically, and she could almost hear him sighing over the phone.
Vrindha : Alright Krishna ! Stop rubbing so much butter on me.
she replied with a playful tone.
Vrindha : Just try to survive until I get home. You might even want to start working on your case studies instead of moping around.
Krishna : I'll try, but it's hard to concentrate when my mind keeps drifting to thoughts of you and your amazing cooking skills. Instead
He teased back.
Vrindha : Fine, fine! I'll see what I can do about dinner.
she relented by laughing.
Vrindha : But you better be ready to impress me with how well you manage on your own until then !
Krishna : Challenge accepted darling ! But just know that I'll be counting the minutes until I see you again.
he said with a genuine warmth in his voice and sent a kiss. Vrindha blushed.
Vrindha felt her heart flutter at his words.
Vrindha : Just don't burn down the kitchen while I'm gone, okay ?
Krishna : Only if you promise to bring some brownie ice cream !
he replied cheekily.
Vrindha : Deal! Now, I should let you get back to your 'tragic' day.
she said with a hint of teasing in her voice.
Vrindha : I'll see you tonight, lovesick puppy.
Krishna : Can't wait ! Love you !
He said and she hung up, her heart is feeling lighter, already looking forward to their evening together.
.............
After wrapping up her phone call with Krishna, Vrindha turned her attention to the papers on her desk, reviewing the ongoing projects. Just then, a soft knock interrupted her concentration. She looked up to see a village woman standing hesitantly in her doorway, her face etched with concern.
