Vrindha arrived at the GHMC office and the familiar hustle and bustle of the workplace greeting her like an old friend. She settled into her desk, with the flurry of thoughts about her pregnancy mingling with the tasks at hand. Today was a crucial day. she needed to follow up on the traffic control works that were vital for the city's development.
As she reviewed her notes, she made calls to the contractors involved.
Vrindha : Can you give me an update on the project timeline ?
she asked with her voice steady and professional.
The contractors were responsive, detailing their progress and any setbacks. Vrindha took notes diligently, ensuring everything was on track.
Just as she was wrapping up a call, her assistant, Ravi, walked in with a concerned expression.
Ravi : Vrindha ma'am ! The Finance Minister wants to speak with you. He's calling you to his office.
Her heart raced slightly at the news.
Vrindha : I'm guessing it's about sanctioning funds for the traffic project ?
she mused, already bracing herself for the discussion.
Ravi : Seems like it.
Ravi replied with his tone neutral but his eyes betraying a hint of worry.
Vrindha : Okay, I'll head over !
she said by smoothing down her saree.

She made her way to the minister's office, her mind is swirling with thoughts of budget allocations and the need for transparency in funding. Upon arrival, his PA greeted her and gestured for her to wait.
Time ticked by slowly. She glanced at her watch and an hour had passed. Then another. Two hours later, her patience wore thin. She shifted in her seat, trying to find a comfortable position, but the waiting was starting to take its toll.
Ravi peeked in with concern etched on his face.
Ravi : Do you want me to get you something ? Water or a snack ?
Vrindha offered a polite smile.
Vrindha : No, thank you, Ravi. I'm okay.
But inside, she felt a knot of frustration tightening.
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, she was ushered into the minister's office. The room was opulent, but the atmosphere was heavy with an unsettling vibe. The Finance Minister, a man with an air of arrogance and greed, looked up from his papers, his demeanour is instantly making her unease.
Minister : Ah, Vrindha! Sit.
he said dismissively by not bothering to look up as he shuffled through documents.
