As the weeks passed, Vrindha found herself navigating the delicate balance of work and impending motherhood. With the mounting pressure at the office and the unsettling confrontation with the Finance Minister still fresh in her mind, she made the decision to take maternity leave. It was a necessary pause, not just for her health but for the well-being of her growing family.
The day before her leave officially began, she received a formal communication from the GHMC office. Curiosity tinged with anxiety coursed through her as she opened the email. It read:
Subject : Transfer Notification
Dear Mrs. Vrindha,
We are pleased to inform you that upon the conclusion of your maternity leave, you will be appointed as the District Magistrate of Hyderabad. This position comes with new responsibilities and opportunities for growth. We believe your skills and dedication make you an excellent fit for this role.
Congratulations on your new appointment !

Vrindha felt a rush of mixed emotions like pride, excitement, but also a twinge of apprehension. Becoming the District Magistrate again is a significant step in her career, yet the circumstances under which it had come about left her feeling uneasy. She understood the complexities involved, especially given her recent encounters with the Finance Minister.
That evening, as she shared the news with Krishna and her mother, Parvathi, both were thrilled for her.
But even as they celebrated, Govind's words echoed in her mind. He had always been protective, and she knew he would likely have strong feelings about the transfer, especially after everything that had transpired.
.........
The next day, Govind visited and his presence is as commanding as ever. He looked at Vrindha with a mixture of pride and concern.
Govind : I heard about your transfer, child !
He began and his voice is steady but probing.
Govind : I want you to know I can help you.
Vrindha : Thank you, uncle !
She said by appreciating his offer.
Vrindha : But I think I'll be fine with the transfer. It feels like a fresh start for me.
Govind raised an eyebrow, skeptical.
Govind : A fresh start ? You're going to move into a significant position, and given the circumstances surrounding your previous treatment at work, you need to be prepared.
Vrindha : I understand.
She replied and determination is filling her voice.
Vrindha : But I believe I can handle this. I want to prove myself in this new role, not just to you or anyone else, but to myself. I need this opportunity.
