Mynx is Dead

Julius entered the room and smiled sadly at the Captains at the table,

"Hey, Julius, what gives with the meeting? What emergency is it I was busy,"

Julius sighed at Yami's words and glanced at Fuegoleon,

"I apologize...King Augustus has declared Mynx officially dead. We can not search for her anymore."

The room fell dead silent. Surprisingly, it was Nozel that spoke,

"How is it his decision to call one of us dead?"

Julius sighed,

"He does not want us to spend anymore of our resources in searching for her, he believes that there will be another attack and does not want our forces spread thin,"

Yami growled,

"He has no right,"

Julius sighed and rubbed his eye in exhaustion,

"I do not believe he does either...but, Mynx is a Citizen and he is the king,"

Fuegoleon stood up and nodded his head at Julius,

"It has been two years. She does not wish to be found. She will come back on her own."

He saluted before leaving without another word. Nozel looked at Julius,

"Do you believe that she is dead?"

Julius sighed and glanced around at the table. 8 of the 9 squad captains stared back at him,

"I truly hope that she is not. However, based on the accounts of what happened two years ago, Mynx used a very powerful spell that was unknown to her, if she is still alive, I believe that she would have returned to us by now."

Yami crossed his arms,

"Or maybe she was blasted away and she is still trying to get here,"

William nodded,

"She is not one to simply die,"

Julius nodded,

"I believe that. Which is why I did not summon Mereoleona from her search. It might not be time for the former Vice Captain to return to us,"

Yami smirked,

"You found a loophole,"

Julius smiled at him and nodded,

"The king only demanded that the Magic knights stopped searching for her, nothing else about ordinary citizens searching,"

Charlotte glanced at Yami,

"Who exactly is Mynx? The only time I ever hear of her is through reports saying not found,"

William stood up,

"She is a friend to all. If you would excuse me,"

He saluted at Julius and quickly left. Yami rolled his eyes,

"And he's still acting all high and mighty,"

Yami turned to Charlotte,

"Mynx was the Vice Captain under Fuegoleon two years ago. Was one of the best ones out there."

Nozel interrupted Yami,

"She was reckless,"

Yami glared at Nozel and his aura darkened,

"Hey you were just defending her braids,"

Nozel scoffed,

"I was only repaying my debt to her. She got herself into this mess-"

"Why you little-"

"And she will get herself out of it all the same."

Silence ensued as Nozel promptly left. Yami rolled his eyes at him and mocked him,

"Yeah whatever braids. Mynx is a hero. She saved my skin when I was just starting out as a Magic Knight. Helped me when I became Vice Captain too."

Charlotte frowned,

"What exactly happened to her?"

Marx was the one to speak up, taking everyone by surprise,

"The Crimson Lions were summoned to Kiten to fight against the Diamond Kingdom. During the attack, they were starting to get overrun. Mynx used a new spell and that spell defeated all the mages there...but we were unable to find her after the battle."

Jack grumbled,

"We searched endlessly back then. But nothing,"

Charlotte glanced over at him in surprise,

"You helped search?"

Jack scoffed,

"We all did. I was just the Vice Captain back then. We searched hard for months...then we slowed down our efforts as time went."

Charlotte tilted her head,

"Then why do you think she's still-"

Yami got up,

"I dare you to finish that sentence prickly princess,"

Julius immediately put his hand on Yamis shoulder,

"Yami,"

Yami crossed his arms and glared at Julius,

"She has a four leaf grimoire and cosmic magic. She is not dead."

That seemed to catch her eye the most and Gueldre sighed,

"She may have a lot of mana, but that does not mean anything to her status,"

Yami's expression darkened and Jack carelessly chuckled,

"Keh. You should not say offensive words,"

Yami put a hand on his katana but was stopped once again by Julius,

"Now now, no fighting please. Gueldre?"

"Yes, Wizard King?"

Julius stared at him with a hidden glare in his eyes,

"It would be wise to not speak of a former Vice Captain in front of her friends that are current captains. I would make sure that what you said does not reach Captain Fuegoleon,"

Charlotte crossed her arms as she shot a glare at Gueldre before glancing at Julius,

"What exactly is Cosmic Magic?"

Julius's eyes sparkled and Marx and Yami both groaned,

"Oh it is the most beautiful magic ever! It was so sparkly and it was blue and sometimes silver! She could create a Pegasus and black holes, it was always fun to watch,"

Charlotte deadpanned at him and nodded,

"I asked the wrong person,"

Yami chuckled,

"Listen. Mynx is strong and witty. She has a spell for any scenario, but it seemed like her magic was more centered around the moon and zodiac shit,"

Charlotte nodded,

"Thank you for the information,"

"Yeah...don't mention it,"

Julius nodded,

"That is all I wished to tell you all. You are dismissed,"

They all saluted before leaving. Yami took out a communicator and pressed a button,

"Let's go and celebrate,"

William's voice was heard from the other end,

"Celebrate?"

"Yes, celebrate her life,"

"Okay. 8 p.m.?"

"Yes,"
