The Hero

Aphi ran through the rubble as his eyes scanned his surroundings,

"Come on, come on,"

He skidded to a stop when he sensed something above him. The next thing he knew, he was colliding with the ground. When he opened his eyes, he was in a small field right outside the Capital,

"Ow,"

Aphi groaned and felt a weight leave his back, he turned his head and scrambled to his feet when he saw Mynx,

"Mynx!"

Mynx slowly opened her eyes and smiled at him,

"Riv...where...where are we?"

Aphi grabbed her arm and wrapped it around his neck as he helped her up,

"I'm not sure. I think right outside the capital,"

Mynx slowly nodded and when Aphi took a step forward, she almost fell down, but he caught her,

"Woah. Easy...We have to get you to Owen,"

Mynx groaned and shook her head slowly,

"N-No...j-just take us h-home,"

Aphi's eyes widened in surprise and he shook his head in horror,

"Luna, you can not walk. I'm taking you to Owen,"

"I-In capital. No,"

He smirked, shifting her carefully to carry her on his back,

"That, my love, is exactly why we are going to Owen,"

Mynx blinked, her tired mind processing his words

"Eh?"

Aphi winked at her as he started walking,

"Me being the amazing boyfriend I am, got your name cleared by the King himself. I saved his life so I told him that you are the reason I did. He was very thankful and he has forgiven you for the fake crime that you committed,"

Mynx smiled weakly at him and kissed his cheek,

"Thank you,"

Aphi smiled and opened his Grimoire,

"Okay, let's hurry. Water Magic: Water Carpet!"

A brilliant light burst forth, forming a shimmering, solid carpet of water beneath them. He gently set Mynx down before seating himself behind her, focusing his mana as the carpet lifted them into the air. He wrapped his arms protectively around her as they glided through the sky.

"Do you know where Owen is?"

Their attention was caught when a large tree appeared right by the King's castle. Mynx slowly pointed at the tree,

"Will,"

Aphi sighed,

"Mynx, we need to get you to Owen,"

Mynx shook her head,

"Will. I. Need to...talk to him."

Aphi sighed and knew he would not convince her otherwise,

"Can you at least say that Owen might be there?"

Mynx nodded,

"Y-Yeah,"

Aphi nodded,

"Alright, good enough for me,"

Mynx looked at him,

"A-Are you okay?"

Aphi smiled at her,

"Yeah. Just a few scratches, don't worry about me. What happened to you?"
