"There is a new dungeon that just appeared. I need you two to go and find the magical item that is typically found in the treasure room,"
Mynx smiled brightly at Fernleon,
"Our first solo-mission! Yes!"
Fernleon chuckled,
"You do remember that in order for it to be a solo-mission, you would have to go solo?"
Mynx shrugged and Fuegoleon chuckled,
"We are one of the same, father, halves of a whole,"
Fernleon chuckled,
"Okay. As you two have been Magic Knights for months, I believe this mission is perfect for the two of you."
The two saluted,
"We won't let you down, father,"
Fernleon smiled at the two and nodded,
"I know you won't. Now hurry up and finish this mission, I expect both of you back by next week,"
They nodded and left the room. Mynx nudged Fuegoleon,
"You excited?"
Fuegoleon chuckled,
"Our first tag-team mission? Yes I am."
They left their base and Mynx opened her grimoire,
"Hey, wanna travel by-"
"No. No I do not want to travel with your pegasus, you have to conserve your mana,"
Mynx pouted,
"Damn, and I just mastered it and everything, spoiled sport,"
Fuegoleon rolled his eyes and summoned their brooms,
"Let's get going,"
They zoomed through the sky until they spotted the forest that the dungeon was in,
"Let's land and walk from here,"
Fuegoleon nodded,
"Yes, get ready for a lot of walking,"
Mynx sighed,
"If only-"
"No pegasus,"
"Oh you are no fun,"
"Cry about it,"
"What if I do?"
"Just be silent about it,"
"Bully,"
The two set off, traveling through dense forests and rocky paths until they arrived at the dungeon's entrance. It was a massive stone structure jutting out of the mountainside, covered in strange, glowing runes that seemed to pulse with life. The air around it buzzed with a thick, palpable mana.
Fuegoleon placed a hand on one of the ancient stones,
"The mana here is intense. We need to be on guard."
"Right. Let's go, Flame Boy."
They stepped inside the dungeon. The corridor was narrow and dimly lit by eerie blue flames along the walls.
"Hey, Ash told me one time that blue fire is the hottest kind of fire you can create...is that true?"
Fuegoleon glanced at the flames along the walls,
"Yeah...stay away from the walls,"
He held up his finger and concentrated his mana to create a small flame of light so the two could see,
