Mereoleona walked to the skull and put her hand on it,

"This is where it all began...all those years ago,"

She sighed smiled sadly at the skull,

"Mynx...you were the first person to ever truly accept me for who I am...if you told me all those years ago how important you were going to become to me, I may have laughed in your face. But what else would a 7-year-old do? I'm sorry I wasn't there for you when you needed me...after all those years of you having my back, I didn't have yours. But I promise that I will find you. In this world or the next. I am here to repay you for all the good."

She walked away from the Skull and headed to the village. She was dressed in a commoner outfit, with a black cloak to hide her Vermillion red hair. She stopped right outside the Church and knocked. A young lady stepped outside,

"Oh, hello, how can I help you?"

"Hello. Is the Pastor here?"

The nun nodded,

"He is. I will get him right now,"

Mereoleona raised her hand to stop her,

"I have a very important thing to tell him, can I come in to speak with him?"

She frowned in confusion but slowly nodded,

"Alright, there are some kids inside I will make them leave,"

Mereoleona nodded,

"Thank you,"

She quickly went back inside and Mereoleona glanced around in wonder at where Mynx grew up for six years. Then one kid came running out, he had ruffled hair and he was beaming at Mereoleona,

"Hello! My name is Asta! What is your name?!"

Another boy came out and glared at Asta,

"Asta! Sister Lily said to not bother her!"

Asta looked at the other boy,

"But Yuno! I'm not!"

Mereoleona smirked and shrugged,

"He is not. Reminds me of my youngest brother. I have business with the Pastor, maybe we can talk after,"

Asta immediately nodded and dragged Yuno away. Mereoleona chuckled and walked into the church to see Lily talking to an older man who looked up at her as she entered,

"Ah, you must be the guest that Sister Lily was talking about, please, have a seat, do you need anything?"

Mereoleona shook her head,

"No, this will be brief,"

Lily nodded and left. The Pastor smiled softly at Mereoleona,

"I remember you,"

Mereoleona's eyes widened in surprise,

"You do?"

He laughed and nodded,

"Of course I do. You saved the first child I ever took care of. You saved Mynx from her fate here. I knew she was not meant for the quiet life as soon as she started to run. She was always in the forest if she was not doing chores. Then one day she ran back home with a large grin yelling that she made a friend who has fire magic. When she left, I knew it was coming. I was just happy that she continued writing to me. She was hoping to come back to visit after I told her that some other kids have been left just as she was...but she never had a chance. Can you please tell me it's false. Please tell me the Vice Captain is not missing. Please tell me that my first daughter was found."

Mereoleona looked down and held out a small package,

"I wish nothing more than to tell you that. Mynx is a part of my family, she's my best friend and I promise you that I will find her,"

The Pastor grabbed the package and started crying when he opened it to see a medal,

"T-They pronounced her d-dead?"

Mereoleona nodded,

"Yes. She went missing after an attack against the Diamond Kingdom and I will find her. I will find my best friend and your daughter, rest assured, father."

He slowly nodded and looked at her and bowed,

"Thank you, Mereoleona,"

Mereoleona nodded and left as her heart sank deeper into the pit of her stomach. She shook it off and left,

"I wonder if we knew if it would end like this if we would have changed our minds back then."

Lil secrets:

Yami and William did in fact keep up the monthly meeting tradition going, they even had the waiters put down an extra glass in Mynx's memory in hopes she comes back.

William never goes to the bar unless it's the monthly outing.

Yami goes out every now and then with others but never uses the money given to him by Mynx to gamble. He also sometimes pays for his squads drinks, Mr. Zenko asked him if he wanted to use his funds but Yami immediately refused and said that those funds are only for himself not for others.

The funds for alcohol have in fact run out two and a half years in but Mr. Zenko gives Yami free drinks out of respect for Mynx.

William still has his funds 🤫

Leopold stargazed all the time because it reminds him of Mynx, Fuegoleon joins him whenever it's a full moon.
