"Fuego?"

Fuegoleon looked up from his desk to see Mynx standing against the door frame,

"Come on in, what is it?"

Mynx sighed and crossed the room, perching herself on the edge of his desk. She seemed restless, her fingers absentmindedly tapping the surface.

"Something is coming,"

Fuegoleon frowned and tilted his head,

"What do you mean?"

Mynx tapped his wrist,

"Something big is going to happen,"

Fuegoleon frowned and leaned back against his chair,

"Is it the same feeling you got before the attack on the Diamond Kingdom?"

Mynx shook her head, her arms crossing protectively over her chest. Her voice dropped to a near whisper,

"Worse,"

Without hesitation, Fuegoleon reached across the desk and took her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze. His grip was firm, his warmth steady against her trembling fingers,

"Hey, don't worry. I won't let anything happen to you ever again,"

Mynx smiled and squeezed his hand,

"You can't make that promise,"

His heart twisted painfully at her response. He leaned forward, his expression fierce,

"I want to,"

Mynx chuckled and lifted up her grimoire,

"You know what's strange?"

"What?"

Mynx turned her pages,

"I looked for the Zodiac spell I used all those years ago. I was curious...and it's not in here anymore,"

Fuegoleon leaned forward, his brow furrowing deeper,

"Really?"

Mynx nodded, her gaze fixed on the intricate script of her grimoire,

"Yeah, I never knew spells could disappear,"

Fuegoleon shrugged, leaning back in his chair.

"I didn't either. The only similar case I've seen is Julius. His grimoire shrank to one page."

Mynx waved a dismissive hand,

"Well, he was de-aged...do you think it's because I stopped aging for four years?"

Fuegoleon stroked his chin thoughtfully.

"Maybe. It could have altered your connection to the grimoire. But... don't change the subject."

Mynx chuckled and smiled at him,

"Can you promise me one thing?"

"Anything,"

Her grip on his hand tightened.

"If I die... find happiness."

Fuegoleon shot to his feet, the legs of his chair screeching against the wooden floor.

"No. Don't ever say that again!"

Mynx sighed and shook her head,

"Fuego-"

"No! I will not have this conversation!"

Mynx rolled her eyes but stepped closer, placing a hand on his arm.
