CHAPTER 47: The Symbol of Peace
The tension in Kamino Ward was unlike anything the city had seen. All eyes were glued to the broadcast—the Symbol of Peace, All Might, was face-to-face with his mortal enemy, All For One. Midoriya, you, and the rest of the students watched from a safe location, their hearts pounding as they witnessed the fight that would decide everything.
All Might’s powerful voice boomed across the scene. “You’re through, All For One. This ends now!”
But All For One merely smiled beneath his mask, a low chuckle resonating from him. “You’re weaker than before, Toshinori. Look around you… see how society has weakened with you.”
All Might’s fists clenched, and his jaw tightened. The reminder of his diminishing strength, the reminder of the broken trust in society—they stung deeply. Yet, he refused to let it break him. His gaze sharpened with resolve as he launched himself forward, fists ready to deliver another Detroit Smash.
The force of the impact sent shockwaves through the air, causing nearby buildings to tremble as debris scattered around them. But All For One absorbed the hit, his expression unchanged, almost taunting as if this battle was nothing more than a game.
“All Might…” Midoriya’s voice was barely a whisper, his fists clenched tightly as he sat on the edge of his seat, feeling every blow as if it were his own. He knew what this battle meant for his mentor, and he could see the toll it was already taking on All Might’s body.
Beside him, you felt an aching tension building within your chest. You could hardly breathe as you watched All Might, the man who embodied hope and strength, fighting with every ounce of his being. Your hands balled into fists, knuckles white. The man on the screen was more than a hero—he was the embodiment of everything you and your classmates strived to be.
All For One smirked, his eyes gleaming with malevolent joy as he raised his hand, pulling a swirl of dark energy around his fist. "You should have retired, All Might. Today, you face the consequences of clinging to an ideal that’s already crumbling."
With a deadly force, All For One struck All Might, the impact shattering the ground beneath him. All Might’s body was thrown backward, skidding across the ground as his breath left him in a strangled gasp. Blood dripped from his mouth, but he quickly staggered to his feet, refusing to give in.
All Might’s voice was strained, but unwavering. “As long as I can stand, as long as I have breath, I will fight. For the future… for my students… and for peace.”
Tears stung your eyes as you watched him struggle to rise again. Every fiber of his being screamed with pain, but his spirit remained unbroken. His strength, his resilience—it was everything you hoped to embody one day. The sight of him, battered and beaten but refusing to give up, was both heart-wrenching and awe-inspiring.
“Come on, All Might… please,” you whispered, voice cracking with the weight of your worry and admiration.
Midoriya’s hand rested on his chest as he whispered fervently, “You’ve always been able to win, All Might… you have to win this one too.”
Back in the battlefield, All For One tilted his head, mocking. “Your students watch, All Might. Will you let them see you fall?”
All Might’s eyes flickered with determination. "If they watch, they’ll see what true strength is. Not the power you use to destroy, but the strength to protect, to save, to give hope."
With a roar, he gathered every ounce of his strength, launching himself at All For One with his arm drawn back for a massive United States of Smash. The impact was deafening, sending shockwaves that reverberated through the area. Dust and debris filled the air, obscuring the scene from view.
The students, the city, and even people watching at home held their breaths, waiting for the dust to settle. The camera zoomed in, trying to capture every second of this battle that held the fate of so many lives.
When the dust finally began to clear, All Might was seen kneeling, panting heavily, his arm hanging limp at his side. He looked weak, yet his spirit was unyielding. All For One was still standing, though visibly damaged, his expression twisted in frustration.
“Is… is he okay?” you whispered, your heart aching at the sight of your hero in such a vulnerable state. You wished more than anything that you could be there, to help him, to give him even a fraction of the support he had always given you.
Midoriya clenched his fists, his gaze never wavering from the screen. He could see the pain All Might was enduring, but he knew his mentor would never give up. All Might was more than a hero; he was a beacon of hope for everyone watching, and that hope would carry him through.
All For One’s voice echoed coldly across the area. “You’re finished, All Might. Your power is fading, and soon, you’ll be nothing more than a symbol of a broken system.”
All Might’s face twisted in pain, but he smiled, his voice unwavering. “Symbols don’t die. They live on in the hearts of those who believe.”
With that final declaration, he summoned every ounce of his remaining strength, his fist glowing with the last remnants of One For All. "This… is my final move."
He launched himself forward, the ground shattering beneath him as he closed the gap between them. All For One’s smirk faltered, his eyes widening as he realized the sheer power All Might was bringing down upon him.
"UNITED STATES OF… SMASH!"
The impact was blinding, a burst of pure energy that shook the very core of Kamino Ward. The ground fractured, and the force of the blow sent shockwaves rippling through the air. All For One was thrown back, his body crumbling under the immense power All Might unleashed.
Silence fell over the area as All Might slowly collapsed to his knees, his body broken but victorious. The Symbol of Peace had won, but at a great cost.
The broadcast cut to the crowd gathered around, people cheering, crying, overcome with emotion. You felt a tear slip down your cheek, a mixture of relief and admiration for the man who had just shown the world what true heroism looked like.
Midoriya’s voice was thick with emotion. “He did it… he really did it.”
All Might turned towards the camera, raising his hand in a victory sign. But instead of triumph, his expression was solemn. His fingers pointed forward as he spoke directly to the people watching, to his students, to the world.
“Now… it’s your turn.”
You felt the weight of his words settle over you, the message meant for all future heroes. This was the moment the torch was being passed, the moment All Might placed his faith in the next generation.
The city erupted in cheers, people crying out in celebration, relief flooding the air. But deep down, you knew this was a farewell to the man who had been the Symbol of Peace, the pillar of strength for everyone.
All Might had won the battle, but the torch had been passed. And you, Midoriya, and all the other young heroes felt the responsibility settle over you, a solemn promise to carry forward his legacy.
