CHAPTER 51: Finding Your Flow

The sun peeked through your window, casting soft beams of light across your room. You stirred awake, a sense of unease settling in your stomach as the memories of yesterday flooded back. The training sessions with your classmates had gone well, but the specter of your sister's new identity as a villain loomed over you. It felt heavier than ever today.

You swung your legs over the side of your bed, trying to shake off the remnants of sleep. It was a new day, one that would likely bring its own challenges, but you couldn't shake the dread gnawing at your thoughts. You pushed yourself up and made your way to the common area, the sounds of chatter and laughter echoing from the kitchen.

As you entered, the familiar sight of Class 1-A gathered around the breakfast table greeted you. Midoriya was animatedly discussing yesterday's training with a twinkle of excitement in his eyes. Your heart fluttered at the sight of him; his passion was contagious, but today you felt distant, a part of you anchored by the fear of what lay ahead.

"Mizushima!" Todoroki called, waving you over. "We were just talking about the provisional license exam. Are you ready?"

You forced a smile, though your insides twisted. "I'll be fine. Just need to focus on my training."

Midoriya caught your eye, concern flickering across his face. "You did really well yesterday, especially with your quirk. I know you're capable of mastering its other aspects."

His encouragement brought warmth to your chest, and you nodded, grateful for his belief in you. "Thanks, Midoriya. I appreciate it."

As everyone dug into their breakfast, you found your thoughts drifting back to Yumi. You could almost hear her voice, taunting you, reminding you of her betrayal. A wave of guilt washed over you as you realized you hadn't fully accepted her transformation into Hydrax. You still clung to the hope that the sister you had loved was somewhere beneath that pain.

"I hope we can all stick together during the exam," Ochaco chimed in, her cheerful demeanor lifting your spirits slightly. "I've been practicing my zero-gravity moves!"

"Me too!" Kaminari added, grinning. "I can't wait to show everyone my new technique."

Their excitement was infectious, and you found yourself smiling despite your worries. You joined in the conversation, contributing when you could, but the back of your mind was still consumed by the shadow of your sister's choices.

After breakfast, the group decided to head to the training ground early to squeeze in some last-minute practice. As you stepped outside, the crisp morning air filled your lungs, and you tried to push the heaviness aside. You had to focus on the exam-there would be time to confront your feelings about Yumi later.

Arriving at the training ground, you and your classmates began your warm-up exercises. You felt a sense of camaraderie in the air as everyone worked together, the light banter easing your tension. Midoriya paired up with you, demonstrating some hand signals for coordinating during combat scenarios.

"Remember," he said earnestly, "communication is key. We need to be able to rely on each other, especially when things get tough."

You nodded, appreciating his sincerity. As you practiced, you couldn't help but steal glances at him. His determination and focus were inspiring, but with each moment, the weight of your sister's actions pressed harder against your chest.

As training progressed, you decided to try harnessing the other aspects of your quirk in front of your classmates. You concentrated, summoning a thin mist around you. The air shimmered, and a few of your classmates paused to watch, intrigued by your ability to manipulate vapor.
