CHAPTER 34: The Island of Heroes

An invitation to I-Island. Even after years away from active duty, the name of Aiko Mizushima, known in her pro-hero days as the formidable "Tsunami," still held weight. Once a top hero, Aiko's reputation and achievements continued to resonate, especially with her connection to All Might. Now, as an honored guest of I-Island, she'd been given the chance to attend one of the most exclusive expos in the world-and with her invitation came a second ticket.

When Aiko first brought up the trip, your eyes lit up immediately. You had heard about the marvels of I-Island, the floating city where brilliant minds and advanced technology came together in the pursuit of hero support, quirk research, and technological advancements. Just the idea of setting foot on such a place filled you with excitement.

Your father, on the other hand, was less than thrilled. "Isn't it risky enough just training at U.A.?" he argued, pacing the room. "Heroes are constantly targeted-and now you want to bring her there, too?"

"Dear, I know you worry," Aiko replied, reaching out to place a comforting hand on his shoulder. "But this is just an expo. We'll be in a secure location. And I'll be right there with her-nothing's going to happen. She'll be safe."

Your father sighed, clearly torn, but as he glanced at your eager expression, he finally relented. "Fine," he murmured, giving you a look of both pride and worry. "But promise me you'll be careful, okay?"

A few days later, you and your mom were on a plane, the vast sea stretching out beneath you as you flew toward the famed floating city. The view of I-Island from above was breathtaking-the futuristic, high-rise buildings and gleaming towers reached up toward the sky, bustling with life and innovation. The excitement in the air was almost tangible as your plane descended, finally touching down on I-Island.

As you and your mom stepped out onto the island, you could barely keep still, taking in the crowds of pro-heroes, scientists, and researchers from around the world. This was a place where heroes and scientists collaborated openly, a haven of discovery that seemed more like a dream than a real destination.

Then, a familiar voice broke through the bustling noise, crying out, "Save me!" You turned, and there he was-All Might, swarmed by an excited crowd of fans. He looked as out of place as a lion in a petting zoo, his large figure awkward among the admirers who clamored around him for autographs and pictures.

You stifled a laugh as you looked to your mom. She shook her head with an amused smile, whispering to you, "Some things never change."

Just as All Might was about to be whisked away by the crowd, a blonde girl darted over to his side, calling out to him. You noticed another familiar figure standing nearby, Midoriya, who seemed equally surprised to be seeing his mentor caught in the swarm.

All Might finally noticed you and Aiko and waved you both over, a bright grin lighting up his face. As you approached, he turned to introduce you both to the blonde girl, Melissa Shield, and her father's former sidekick, David Shield.

All Might's face softened as he mentioned David, reminiscing about their time together. With a knowing smile, he suggested that your mother meet him as well. "David was a brilliant scientist back in the day," he said. "And I think it's about time Aiko got to meet him in person."

Your mother remembered hearing of David back when she was active in the hero world, though she'd never met him. She nodded, her curiosity piqued, and All Might led the way toward David Shield's lab.

David was ecstatic to see All Might and embraced him with a smile. Introductions went around quickly-David, All Might, Midoriya, you, and Aiko all exchanged warm greetings. You watched with amusement as Midoriya's fanboy mode activated, and he launched into a monologue listing David's many accomplishments, from his Nobel Peace Prize to his role as All Might's costume designer. His excitement was contagious, and everyone shared a laugh at his enthusiastic rambling.
