CHAPTER 110: Quirkless Descent
The U.A. Shelter was tense. The war had already left scars across the nation, and now, something even more sinister was taking shape.
All Might hurried through the halls, his footsteps heavy with urgency. Best Jeanist and Hawks were waiting for him in the conference room, the monitors displaying the massive structure that had risen seemingly overnight. The moment he entered, Hawks wasted no time.
"We've got a name," he said, grimly tapping the screen. "The Gollini Family Mafia. The most dangerous crime syndicate in Europe. Even pro-heroes overseas are wary of them."
Best Jeanist adjusted his gloves. "They don't just deal in illegal Quirk enhancements and underground fights. They're an empire built on control, eliminating anything they see as 'unworthy.'"
All Might's expression darkened. "Then anyone caught in their grasp is in mortal danger."
Before another word could be spoken, a transmission cut through the room. The screens flickered, and a figure appeared-a throne of gold and obsidian behind him, the room exuding an aura of twisted grandeur.
Valdo Gollini sat upon his self-made palace, his hand resting casually against the armrest. But his eyes? They were focused directly on All Might.
"It's an honor, truly," Valdo spoke, his voice dripping with confidence. "I never expected to speak to the Symbol of Peace himself."
All Might's fists clenched. "Where are the civilians? Release them."
Valdo merely chuckled. "I understand your concern, but you see, they are now part of something greater." He leaned forward. "I came to this land because I saw what was left after your war-the despair, the chaos. And I realized... true peace requires power."
All Might narrowed his eyes. "Power alone doesn't create peace. It creates tyranny."
Valdo smiled. "That's where you and I differ. I will bring peace. The peace you failed to maintain after your retirement. And for that, I seek your blessing."
All Might's glare sharpened. "You twist my ideals into something vile. I will never give you my approval."
For the first time, Valdo seemed surprised. But then, instead of disappointment, something else flickered in his gaze-amusement.
"So be it," he murmured, leaning back. "Then I shall forge my own name. If you reject me as a Symbol of Peace... then let the world know me as Dark Might."
Hawks' wings tensed, ready for action. Best Jeanist remained silent, his mind working through the implications.
Dark Might's grin widened. "Now then. Who among your students will inherit your legacy?"
The connection cut.
Silence.
All Might closed his eyes, exhaling sharply. "The ones in that fortress... they will be the ones to stop him."
Hawks smirked. "Looks like it's time for Class 1-A to show what they're made of."
---
Within the dark fortress, the Gollini Family stirred.
Dark Might sat upon his throne, watching live footage from the countless video cameras scattered throughout his fortress. His eyes flickered across the divided Class 1-A members, analyzing, calculating.
Then, his gaze settled on Giulio.
He tilted his head slightly. At first, he considered him irrelevant. But before he could turn away, Paulo stepped forward, a smirk tugging at his lips.
"I'll handle him," Paulo volunteered, bowing slightly. "Consider it... making up for my earlier mistake."
Dark Might gave a slow nod. "Then do not fail again."
Paulo's smirk widened.
Meanwhile, Kamille stepped forward, raising his hands. His Quirk Spatial Excursion activated.
The very ground lurched.
The massive fortress began to move.
It spread like a living organism, consuming everything in its path. Cities were swallowed into its ever-expanding structure, helpless civilians dragged into its depths.
The world watched in horror.
Dark Might watched in anticipation.
---
The first thing you felt upon waking up was the hollow silence.
You stirred, vision blurry as you pushed yourself up. Around you, the others from your group-Izuku, Ochaco, Fumikage, and Toru-began to awaken as well.
A paradise-like forest surrounded you, sunlight trickling through the trees, a river flowing nearby. It looked... serene.
Too serene.
Izuku's brows furrowed. "This place feels... fake."
Toru, exploring ahead, suddenly gasped. "Guys! There's a manhole over here!"
"This might lead somewhere," you murmur, brushing away the leaves.
Izuku nods, activating Float as he cautiously lowers himself into the hole. You summon a stream of water from your palm, twisting it into a sturdy rope anchored to a tree, using it to ease your descent right behind him. The deeper you go, the more the air shifts-cold, heavy, unnatural.
Halfway down, Izuku suddenly stiffens. His eyes widen. "My quirk-it's not working!" he shouts, body lurching as Float vanishes.
Your stomach drops. "What?!"
He scrambles for a grip on the slick walls but slips. "Y/N, go back! Tell the others-"
"No chance!" You react instantly, snapping your wrist forward as the water rope lunges toward him, aiming to catch him midair. But the moment it enters the deeper section, it destabilizes, the liquid scattering as if some unseen force is disrupting its form.
Izuku disappears into the shadows below.
Cursing under your breath, you take a steadying breath and gather more water from the air, reforging your rope. Then, without hesitation, you drop down after him.
The darkness swallows you whole.
---
You land hard in a frigid, mountainous landscape, the icy air biting at your skin. Pushing yourself up, you immediately scan the area. "Izuku?"
A few feet away, he groans, shaking off the impact. Relief washes over you as he stumbles to his feet, but it's short-lived.
A sharp voice cuts through the silence. "Who the hell are you two?"
You turn to see a lone figure-Giulio. He's tense, shoulders squared, ready for a fight. The hostility in his gaze is unmistakable.
Before anyone can react, a hail of gunfire erupts from the cliffs above. You barely manage to dodge, twisting your body as bullets ricochet off the ice. Izuku moves on instinct, shielding his head as he ducks behind a boulder.
With his quirk still inactive, he's vulnerable. And with your water struggling to maintain its shape in the freezing air, so are you.
Giulio moves first, dashing toward the attackers and swiftly taking them down. You help where you can, using the ice underfoot to your advantage, sending jagged shards toward their feet to throw them off balance.
When the last enemy falls, Giulio exhales sharply, eyes flicking between you and Izuku. His fingers twitch toward his belt, where a knife is holstered, but he doesn't draw it. Instead, he jerks his chin toward a motorcycle parked nearby.
"Get on. Both of you."
Izuku hesitates, but you grip his wrist, urging him forward. "No better options right now."
With that, you take off into the unknown, heading straight for the heart of Dark Might's domain.
