CHAPTER 101: The Abyss Beckons
The battlefield is a storm of fire, fury, and fractured ground. Screams echo through the smoke, the once-coordinated assault reduced to desperate survival. Heroes and villains clash with everything they have, but the line between triumph and collapse thins with every heartbeat.
Amid it all, Shigaraki’s voice cuts through the chaos, low and venomous. “You really think this power can save anyone, Midoriya?”
Energy warps around him—a twisted halo of decay and raw malice. His hands twitch with barely-contained destruction, and his eyes glow with inherited hunger.
“One For All was never yours. It was meant for me!”
Izuku doesn’t flinch. Lightning arcs over his limbs, crackling with resolve. “I don’t care who it was meant for!” he shouts, hurtling forward like a bolt of willpower. “This power is about hope! And I’ll never let you take that away!”
Shigaraki laughs—a sound that curdles the air. “Hope?” he scoffs. “All For One taught me the truth. Hope is a lie. Power is the only thing that matters.”
The earth splits beneath their clash—Izuku’s conviction against Shigaraki’s chaos. Shockwaves tear through the battlefield as they exchange blows, each strike shaking the very sky.
In the distance, Endeavor charges, his flames searing a path forward. But he’s slower now—his breaths ragged, his fire dimmer. Every step is a battle in itself.
“Aizawa-sensei!” Izuku’s voice rings out, desperate as he senses the faltering rhythm behind him.
Aizawa stumbles, just briefly—but it’s enough. Blood runs down his face, and his one remaining eye struggles to stay open. “I’m fine,” he growls, forcing his gaze back onto Shigaraki, keeping his Erasure quirk locked on him. But the tremor in his hands says otherwise.
Izuku clenches his fists tighter.
---
Across the ravaged battlefield, Shoto and Dabi’s clash burns hotter than ever, a violent storm of fire and ice tearing through the ruined ground. The lingering echo of Dabi’s broadcast confession hangs in the air like smoke—exposing the Todoroki family’s scars for the world to see.
“You’re a monster,” Shoto says firmly, stepping through scorched earth and frozen soil. “But you don’t have to keep being one, Touya. Stop this now, and—”
“Don’t you dare try to save me!” Dabi snarls, his flames igniting violently in response. “You think you can fix this? Fix me? You’re just like him—acting like you’re above it all. But you’re not. None of you are!”
The words sting, but Shoto’s stance holds. He retaliates with a wave of ice, his control sharpened by resolve. The ground fractures beneath their feet—a battlefield split between searing heat and biting cold.
Nearby, your own fight pushes you to the brink.
Hydrax stalks you like a shadow, her corrupted water swirling in jagged arcs at her feet. Her eyes—once familiar—are now hardened by betrayal, glowing with grief-fueled rage.
“This is what it’s all about, Y/N,” she hisses. “Destruction. Chaos. The truth finally breaking free. That’s all that’s left for people like us.”
You grit your teeth, summoning moisture from the air and broken terrain, shaping it into a shimmering wall between you. “You don’t have to believe that, Yumi,” you counter, your voice cracking with emotion. “It’s not too late. You can still choose something else.”
