CHAPTER 10: Rift in the Winds

The sound of explosions echoed through the air as the League of Villains spread out across the U.S.J., turning what was supposed to be a controlled training exercise into a living nightmare. The students of Class 1-A scattered into the different disaster zones, their hearts pounding as they tried to make sense of the chaos that had erupted around them.

You ran alongside Midoriya and Uraraka, your breath coming in quick, ragged bursts as you glanced over your shoulder, half-expecting the masked woman to reappear. Her piercing eyes, filled with hatred, still burned in your mind, and the cryptic words she had spoken sent shivers down your spine.

Why does she hate me? Who is she?

But there wasn't time to dwell on the questions swirling in your mind. Right now, you needed to survive. The villains were coming, and you had to be ready for anything.

"Head for the flood zone!" Midoriya called, his voice barely cutting through the roar of chaos around you. "We can regroup there!"

You nodded, your heart racing as you followed him toward the simulation area designed to mimic a flooded city. Water sloshed around your feet as you entered the zone, the eerily quiet environment in stark contrast to the destruction unfolding elsewhere in the U.S.J.

You could feel the water responding to your quirk, its cool, familiar presence calming the storm inside you-if only for a moment. But your mind kept drifting back to the woman. Something about her was unsettling, more than just the fact that she was a villain. She knew you. She had looked at you like she had a score to settle, and that made your skin crawl.

---

"Are you okay?" Uraraka asked, her voice soft but filled with concern. She must have noticed the way you kept glancing over your shoulder, your movements tense and distracted.

"Yeah, I'm fine," you lied, forcing a tight smile. "I just... I don't know who that woman is. She looked at me like she knew me, like she was targeting me."

Midoriya's eyes widened slightly, his gaze flicking between you and the chaos unfolding in the distance. "It sounds like it's personal for her," he said, his voice thoughtful. "We'll have to stay on guard."

His words didn't bring you much comfort, but you appreciated his calm presence. Midoriya had a way of staying focused, even in the most dangerous situations. You wished you could be that calm right now.

As the three of you pushed deeper into the flood zone, the sound of rushing water echoed through the air. Your quirk hummed beneath your skin, responding to the environment, but even as you tapped into the water around you, your control felt shaky. The weight of everything that had happened-the fear, the confusion-was making it harder to focus.

"Alright," Midoriya said, his voice low but steady, "we need to figure out a plan. Thirteen and Aizawa-sensei are fighting the main villains, but we don't know how many more are out there. If we can stay hidden, we might be able to regroup with the others."

You nodded, but your mind kept wandering back to the woman. You couldn't shake the feeling that she would come after you again. And the thought terrified you.

---

As the minutes ticked by, the tension in the air grew thicker. You could hear distant sounds of battle-the sharp crackle of electricity, the thundering boom of explosions-but here, in the flood zone, it was eerily quiet. Too quiet.
