Another Life (Oc x reader)

An Oc x reader story.
(I could probably call it Male Niko x reader too, but I'm using an Oc I have used in other books of mine.)

- The Oc, Ethan Stone, replace Niko Breckinridge.
He's kind of like a male version of Niko. But in my version Niko is Erik's late wife and Janas late mother, but let's just pretend she worked as something else, so Ethan still takes her place in the series.

- Jason replace Cas Isakovic, with a Male version of herself.
I named him Jason since I'm using my Ethan Oc in this story and I have a character that is like his second in some of those stories too. So because I was gonna genderbend Cas anyway, I decided to just name him Jason instead of a male version of her name.

I like when the same characters appears in my stories. Then people who reads my other books can imagine certain characters appearing in different universes like I like to do when I write them.
(Btw: I don't write much detail about how they look, since I'm not good at explaining people. But I like that readers can imagine the characters as however or whoever they want.)

- Yn Yln is an added character in this.
I landed on just calling her job being Ethan's personal assistant. It wasn't easy to find her something to do since she doesn't replace any specific characters in the series, and I wanted her to have history with Ethan and work close to him. She's an added character so I've tried to put her in for it makes somewhat sense, I didn't want her to seem like she's in the way, or that she takes completely over someone else's job. On this mission, she mainly works from the observation deck. (I would call it the ships bridge, but they call it that in the series, so I'll call it that too.)

- Erik Wallace is Ethan Stone's brother and Ava Breckinridge is their mother. Jana Wallace is his niece.
I didn't bother changing their last names for it to make sense. I usually use Stone as Ethan's last name in the Oc x reader stories, but this is the first book he replaces one specific characters place completely. Most natural to do would be to keep Niko's last name, but I made Ethan her husband's brother, so then the last name would have to be Erik's instead.. I honestly just found it too complicated to care.
If you need to read my excuse for letting them have different last names even though they're family, here you go: In my version Erik Wallace has their father's last name, Ava Breckinridge changed back hers back to her maiden name or maybe they never got married. Ethan changed his last name to Stone, he took his grandmothers maiden name in her honour after she passed, having had a great relationship with her.
There, just to have a short explanation of why I keep the last names as they are, I won't be writing their last name a lot anyway.

- I highly recommend having seen the series before watching, at least for now while I haven't been back to edit and filed inn scenes I haven't written yet.
I'm not writing everything this first time writing it, will probably skip a lot from what's happening on Earth, so you should probably have seen it so you know what's happening there while I write about what they're doing in space. But I'm not writing every scene of them there either, I will try to write all of the important scenes, but my focus is mainly Ethan and Yn's scenes.

Prologue:
Set in the future, an anomaly from space appears in Earth's orbit and plants a stalk-like object into the ground. Humans attempt to determine what it is, why it's been placed there, and what's going to happen next. But it's taking too long to crack the code so they send a team into space to the source of the object to investigate further.
