(S1:E1)
The spaceship Salvare's AI, wakes up Commander Ethan Stone.

He lays in a soma tube, wearing a pair of shorts. The tube slides out of the wall and the glass covering his tube slide open. He has needles injected into the sides of his neck, it's what keeping him in the somatic. His eyes flutter open and the needles extract themselves.

Ethan gasps, his body arching for air. Coughing, he turns and gets out of the tube, falling on the floor. Breathing heavily he slowly pulls himself up to his feet, his eyes pinched close and his body tense. Then the ship shakes slightly. He coughs and has to catch himself on the soma tube to not fall again. Bare feet, he weakly makes his way out into the corridor of the ship.

Metal creaks around him. The ship jerks and Ethan catch himself on the wall, groaning. "William?"

Then William appears in the corridor with him. "Yes, Ethan."

"Why am I awake? Is something wrong?" He asks and then the ship shakes again. "Is that why?"

"That? Oh, no, that's nothing."

"Doesn't feel like nothing."

"Sirius A is just throwing a little wobbly right now."

The ship jerks again and Ethan gets pushed toward the other side of the corridor by the force. On the way, he walks through William, revealing he's a hologram. William, the ships AI is a very realistic hologram, you wouldn't think it's a hologram if you didn't know or unless you accidentally walked through him, like Ethan did now.

Ethan catch himself by the wall again. "We're not on Pi Canis Majoris?"

"That's why you're awake. I will explain on the observation deck. But I am to wake up Yn Yln right after you, Ethan, right?"

"Yes. But wait until I'm there." He tells him and head for your soma chamber.

Getting there, your tube slides out of the wall and Ethan looks at your peaceful face, a soft smile on his face. You're laying in a sports bra and shorts in the same material as Ethan's shorts, made for the Somatic sleep. You gasp and he immediately takes a hold of you to help you stay calm.

"You're okay. Just breathe, Yn."

Your eyes lock on Ethan's as you gasp for air, your hands instinctively clutching to him. "Ethan." You breathe out.

He helps you out of the tube and to get your balance on your feet. Then you notice William.

You smile at him. "William."

"Yn." He smiles back.

...

"We thought Pi Canis Majorie's here." William gestures to the hologram map on the table in the middle of the observation deck.

"It's not?" Ethan asks.

"No, that's an optical illusion. Light from the star has been refracted around this.." He zooms in. "A massive field of dark matter."

Ethan frowns. "How did we screw that up?"

"Sensors on Earth missed it."

"So what's the fix?"

"Well, we travel through dark matter-"

"Wait, wait. Blind? We could hit a planet." You say.

"We travel at impulse speed. Not faster than light."

Ethan sighs. "How many months does that add to the journey?"

"Seven, give or take."

"Unless we go around it." Ethan thinks out loud. "Whoever said the shortest distance between two points is a straight line was a big fat liar."
