Chapter 42 - Lab Rat

The alien in Sasha's head is tormenting him. He's restraint to the patient chair in the isolation room.

"His heart rate is through the roof." Zayn says.

"Maybe we should administer a sedative." Bernie suggests, watching Sasha trash in his restraints.

"He can't fight the implant sedated."

"He cant fight it if he's dead."

"If he dies. We study that thing." Zayn looks at Sasha's in disgust. "Really study it so the next time the Achaia attack us, we're prepared."

"Zayn.. He didn't ask for this."

"Javier didn't ask to be brain-dead! Azami didn't ask to suffocate in a soma tube."

"We were both on that moon. It could be either one of us in there right now."

"No, Bernie, it wouldn't, because I would never let them put something in my head. I would kill myself first." Zayn says and walk out.

"Bernie." Sasha says and he turns to him.

"Hey, buddy."

"Zayn's right.. Kill me. Please." He says and then starts screaming as the alien punishes him.

The doctor tells Erik that she is still seeing high leukemia cells, which would mean that she is going to die soon if things don't improve.

"Erik, you need to prepare for the worst."

They suddenly hear yelling in the hallway. "Let me go!"

Harper is getting transferred, when she sees Erik, she begs him to save her.

"What are you doing to her?"

"Erik, stop." Dubious tells him.

He starts arguing with her, and she threatens to order him off the base if he doesn't watch his tone and stay out of it. Then Jana would be left alone, so he is forced to stay silent.

Ethan and Jason hear your voice through the comms. "Ethan? Jason? William's made a link to the alien AI. We're bringing up the Achaian realm.. now."

"Okay. Great." Ethan says.

You frown at the screen, then turn to William. "How many are there?"

"336 star systems and counting." The alien AI answers you for him.

Ethan sighs. "Where's Achaia?"

The screens shows their planets location.

"427 light-years away from our current position." William says.

"Can you show us Earth?"

You frown and turn to William. "So.. What do we do?"

"If the Achaia are on your planet, then it is already too late. There is nothing you can do." Alien AI says.

Erik steals a nurse uniform and put on a mask and caps. He sneaks into a room, where he sees Harper alive, but surrounded by dead soldiers. Harper is crying in a corner. She tells him the guards were gonna to kill her.
