Ethan sits in the pilot seat, just looking out at the view. Then he hears the door to the observation room open. Frowning, he turns around and see you walking in.

His eyes widen. "No, no, no." Standing up he looks at you in shock and growing rage. "No! What did you do? What did you do!?" He screams at you.

You just stand there with crossed arms, looking at him. He clutches his head in distress and despair. Breathing heavily, he hunches over, starting to hyperventilate. You walk over to calm him. He leans on the wall and slides down. Bending down, you put your hands on his knees.

"This was my choice Ethan. I wasn't going to leave you. It's okay. This is not your fault."

He looks at you, shaking his head in disbelief. The door opens again and Richard walks in. Your heads whip to him and Ethan gets to his feet frowning at him.

"No. I gave you plenty of time to get out."

"What are you still doing here?" You ask him.

"Iara trapped me on this side."

"Iara?" You frown.

Ethan laughs. "Of course, because you tortured her."

"Yeah, well, she is half Achaian, so.."

Ethan frowns slightly as he suddenly gets an idea. "It may not be the worst thing though."

"It's okay, you don't have to-"

"No. I'm serious. I think I have a plan."

...

Erik chooses a place that's been gone a few years, it used to be a smelter but then a lot of health issues for the people who lived there. They place the orb in a machine, which drops it when they are at a safe distance and it causes a rumble. It releases a green wave of fog, which heads right toward them. When they look, they see that the place which had been pretty much destroyed is now a beautiful, healthy forest.

...

On the Salvare, the crew is having a rough ride through the wormhole, but get through it. William tells the crew that they are orbiting Jupiter. They sigh relieved and smile, but then Jason frowns as he looks around.

"Where's Yn? And Richard?" Jason asks.

William frowns. "I'm not reading any signs of them."

"You're saying they're gone? Like Ethan?" Dillon asks.

...

Seth and Erik broadcasts to the Martian Colonies, tells them that they had witnessed an entire ecosystem appear out of nowhere in seconds, proving that the Achaia has good intentions.

Jason, William, Bernie, Zayn, and Dillon watch the transmission and get the confirmation that Earth is still fine, but they need a plan to cloak data they have on the information including weaponising neutrinos against the Achaians tech. Jason wants to know if they would be returning as enemies or heroes.

They ask Iara to appear, but she doesn't show up when they call her. William then finds out what Iara did.

...

Jason burst into the accelerator room and to Iara who is pacing nervously.

"Hey! Ethan chose to sacrifice himself. Yn probably stayed behind. But Richard had no say."

"I know, I know!"

"They'll die out there because of you."

"Why would I do that? I wouldn't. I couldn't. I.. That's not me."

"I want her contained." Jason tells Dillon.

Iara tells him that she hindered Richard from coming with then, but that she wouldn't have done something like that herself. All of a sudden, Iara gets a blank look and doesn't seem like herself, then she asks them if they want to know what Richard looked like when he realised he wasn't coming with them, her voice now menacing.

"What is happening to you?" William asks.

Iara gets back to herself, crying and says that she doesn't know what's happening to her.

"Guys, look at this." Dillon says.

He shows Jason that the Achaian code is consuming Iara. Jason tells him to save her because she's their only shot at reopening the wormhole and save Ethan, you and Richard.

...

Erik says that as far as he could tell, nothing had come out of the wormhole which they got a notification about earlier. A data file is sent to them. It shows the Salvare's logo.

"Yes! It was him! Ethan did it! The wormhole was him." Erik cheers.

But then Jason appears on the broadcast. "This is Jason, Commander of the United States Interstellar Command ship the Salvare."

Erik's relived and happy smile fades.

"Accompanying this video is a full data package of our mission to date. Our FTL was damaged during transit through the wormhole. So we will be completing our journey back to Earth using our impulse engines.. Unfortunately Commander Ethan Stone sacrificed his chance at returning home, so we could have ours."

"No." Erik shakes his head, his lip trembling slightly.

"Him, Yn Yln and Richard Ncube remain stranded 87 light-years from Earth on the jettisoned half of the Salvare."

"No." With a shaky breath Erik walks out. Palming his face in despair, he cries.

Singh walks out to him. "Erik, I am sorry."

...

Erik later comes back in and starts thinking of ways to save his brother, not ready to give up. He says that Ethan, you and Richard has over two weeks of oxygen and can be saved. The hybrid AI, Iara, opened up a wormhole once, so she can do it again to save you. Singh says that it's not that simple, which angers him.

Seth suggests that maybe the Achaia can help.
