Chapter 20 - Birthday Party

Ethan is helping carry some gifts to the table at the birthday party. He turns to see Erik and Jana with the cake and you not that far away. Walking up behind you, he wraps his arms around your hips and pull you close. You lean into him and turn your head. You bite your lips with a smile.

He notices you want to say something. "What?"

"I was gonna wait until later, but.." You glance around and then just decide to say it, not being able to keep your excitement to yourself anymore.

You pull him slightly away from the others. Holding his hands you smile brightly.

He chuckles. "What's going on with you? Not that I mind you looking at me like this."

"There's something I need to tell you. Some news. Pretty big news and I'm kind of nervous about how you're gonna take it, but I'm really excited myself." You blabber nervously.

"What is it?" He frowns confused, but smiles at your adorable blabbering.

"I'm.." You take a breath. "Ethan, I'm pregnant." You then tell him and wait for his reaction. He stares at you in both confusion and shock.

"What?.." He breathes out. You just nod with a smile. "And.. it's, uh.. mine?"

You laugh in disbelief. "Of course it is. Who else?"

"You're pregnant?"

"Mhm."

Ethan is shocked. He forgets that this is a dream or just decide to ignore it and enjoy it. Even though he had never thought he'd bother to have his own kids, he was feeling extremely happy about the news. With a big smile, he caresses your face lovingly, feeling his chest bursting with joy.

"We're having a baby?" He says and you nod. "I'm gonna be a father? To your child?"

You giggle and nod again. He smiles happily and lean down to kiss you.

William appears in his soma dream and look around at the garden party. Then he sees Ethan. His eyes widen in surprise at seeing him kissing you, or a made up version of you in Ethan's dream.

You pull away from the kiss when Jana calls for you. She wants to show you something so you excuse yourself and go to her. Ethan smiles as he watches you go to his niece. Then when he glances around, he notices William walking toward him.

He raises an eyebrow at him. "This is a surprise."

"Ethan, I don't have a lot of time, but you're in a dream."

"Two steps ahead of you."

"No, no. You don't understand. You need to wake up, now. It's an emergency. None of this is real!" He says and Ethan gives him an annoyed look. "Ethan, you're in danger."

Ethan just looks over his shoulder at you, Erik and Jana behind William.

"Did you hear what I said?"

Jana runs up to her uncle, grabbing Ethan's hand. "Do you wanna go watch me blow out my candles, uncle Ethan?"

"Absolutely, Princess. Just one second, okay?"
