"This was an accident, right?" Zayn asks Ethan as he stands in front of the crew gathered in the mess hall.

"Ian Yerxa was a threat." Ethan says and August gasps. They look at him in shock.

"Are you saying you killed him?" Oliver asks him.

"Yes." Ethan says, his face neutral. "He was a threat to this ship, to the mission. He cared more about being in command-"

"You don't know that." Petra says.

"Yes, we do." Bernie says. "Two hours ago, that asshole steered this ship into a star."

"So, what? He just gets to go around killing people now, is that it?" Oliver asks.

"No, I'm with Bernie." Javier speaks up. "Better to kill one of him than all of us."

"We are out here to deal with an alien threat, one that is directed at our planet." Ethan reminds them. "Anything that compromises that mission cannot and will not be ignored."

"You psycho, bloodthirsty murder. Why are we sitting here listening to this shit?" Michelle asks, getting furious. "Let's throw him out an airlock! Are you kidding me!? He killed him!"

"When we get back to Earth, there will be an inquiry. I will make sure of it. Yn will make sure of it." Ethan gestures to you beside and slightly behind him. They look at you and you nod. "But until then, this mission is front and center-"

An explosion jerks the ship violently and you have to catch yourself from hitting the floor. Alarms blare and you look at your tablet.

"Life support." William says.

"We're losing oxygen." You inform Ethan and pull up your tablets screen to appear on the big screen for everyone to see.

"Blast as much oxygen as you can back inside the ship."

"I.." You frantically tap your screen and not being able too.

William tries to override it. "I can't override the safety protocol."

"I can do it from the observation deck." August says.

Another crashing sound and the ship jerks again. "We've lost module two."

"We're still breathing. Come on." Ethan says and go.

Everyone starts leaving the mess hall. As you go, you suddenly start to wheeze for air and loose balance. "Hey, hey, hey. Whoa, whoa, whoa!" The ones behind you barely catch you before you fell to the floor.

Ethan heard and turns. "Yn!" He runs back and bends down to you, just then Sasha falls too.

"They're having trouble breathing." Zayn tells them, the two of you are the newest to being in space.

"How you feelin' about your good friend Yerxa, now?" Javier says looking at Michelle. She curses at him.

"Yn, breathe through your nose. I got you. Slow down." Ethan is holding your head as he helps you through it, while Zayn does the same with Sasha.

Bernie runs to you. "I got her, Ethan. Go."

Ethan reluctantly lets you go then go with the others. "How much time do we have until we run out of oxygen?"

"We have five hours until the crews unconscious. Until death we have-" August says.

"Five hours. I can work with five hours."

"Yeah, well, there's no other choice." Oliver says.

"Alright, guys, plans, ideas? Throw 'em at me. August?" Ethan tells them, walking into the observation deck.

"We could source a comet. Something icy, trap it, electrolyse the oxygen and the hydrogen." She suggests and Ethan rubs his forehead as he looks at the screens.

"This mission is a never ending shit show." Michelle says.

"So stop complaining and make yourself useful. Find us a planet, a comet, an asteroid. Anything with water." Ethan tells her. "August, seal off any unnecessary part of the ship and reroute our atmosphere where we need it most."

"On it. Guys, with me." She tells the boys and leave.

"And turn off that alarm." Ethan tells her as she goes. "Yn would've turned it off already." He mutters to himself after she left.

He looks at the screen with William, trying to figure out what to do.

"Michelle, any luck? You find something?"

"You don't think I would've whooped my ass off?"

"A simple 'no' works." Ethan tells her.

"Fine. No."

"Our long-range sensors are down." William reports. "We could backtrack to Sirius, but it's gonna take at least 48 hours."

"In 48 hours we're gonna be dead." Ethan sighs. "Come on, you guys. What aren't we thinking of?"

"I mean, there's microlensing.. It's pretty old tech, but.." Michelle says and they turn to her. "Okay, so William looks for light fluctuations in front of stars. He gets a blip, it means it's probably a planet. So we land on it, extract oxygen from, I don't know, ice or whatever. Save our asses."

"That's smart. Really smart. Thank you." He praises, hoping it will make her drop the attitude and she glances at him, slightly surprised.

She pretends like it didn't mean anything to her that he said that. "And don't blame me if it doesn't work. From beyond the grave, you know.."

Ethan just looks at her, hiding his annoyance and turn around.

"Okay, I've got eight planets. Five gas giants, three little rocky ones.. Ah, they're too far away." William says,

"It's okay. Let's keep looking." Ethan tells him.

...

Erik is testing different songs to the Artefact, but not getting any further, only getting the same reaction from it every time. Dubious show up and pulls him aside.

"It's the Salvare.. We've lost contact."

"Okay, what exactly do you mean by 'lost contact'?"

She sighs. "We haven't heard from them in over 30 hours. Their comms are down."

"Okay, well, they were going back into somatic sleep."

"Not William."

"How do you know that they're not just out of range or that-"

"Because we had a partial communication with their Chief Engineer. They were trapped in a delaying orbit around Sirius A with significant damage to their engines.. You should go home."

"I, uh.. I gotta run the new signal."

"Erik. Go be with your kid. Take all the time you need. Anything changes here, we'll call you."
