I'm standing stuck in time in the middle of a bad dream that I can't wake up from.
I'm paralyzed with fear, I'm scared that if I make a sound or a move this will be real, and my entire world will be over.
I hear piercing screams coming from my nephew, his mom, my mom, but the voice I hear the loudest is my sister. She's yelling for help, yelling for my mom to go in the house, screaming for me to snap out of my frozen state.
Zachary: Danni, I need you to get them the house and drive me to the hospital. Baby. Tima?! Baby, take Karter and go in the house. I'm hit in the shoulder, but I'm ok.
After a full minute, I finally snapped out of it when I heard my son crying. Momma bear immediately went into protection mode. I called the EMS while getting everyone in the house, including Cain and Tracy.
The EMS and police pulled up at the same time. The police said they had to secure the scene before the EMS could take Zachary to the hospital.
I gave Karter to Danni and drove Zachary to the hospital myself. Once my mind processed that he wasn't going to die, I calmed down just a little bit.
Zachary was shot twice, both in his right arm and in his right shoulder. They performed minor surgery to remove the bullet from his arm. The bullet in his shoulder went straight through, he may have nerve damage but it was too soon to tell. Either way, eventually, he would be okay.
While they were stitching Zachary up, Monet called to let them know the police left and Danni that went to get Niko from jail. Monet had Karter and tried to keep Cain but Tracy took him with her kicking and screaming because he didn't want to go.
Danni bailed Niko out of jail. Him and Danni argued the entire way home because he wanted to go get Cain but she wanted to let everything calm down first.
Danni: You're going to get arrested again if you don't calm down. It's literally nothing we can do tonight we need to may sure Zac is good then get some sleep.
Niko: Fuck that shit. I don't even know who that nigga was and until I have my son ain't nobody getting no sleep. Go pull up on Tracy so I can get Cane.
Danni: No Babe, Tima texted saying Zac is out of surgery, he should be released in a few days. We can go home or to the hospital, that's it.
Niko: Home, but stop at Ma's first.
They drove over to Monet house finding her standing in the window watching intensely at every car that drove by. Usually Monet would've put up a fight about being forced to leave her home.
Watching her son get arrested and her son in-law get shot all in a matter of minutes had her shook. The dead man laying on her lawn for hours and the bullet holes her front window didn't shake her but seeing her grand kids helpless shook her forsure.
Niko dropped Danni, his mom and Karter off at home. Danni through her hands up on defeat when he told her he had to handle some business and would be back.
Danni: I'm telling you now. If you get arrested again tonight I'm going to let you sit in there.
Niko: I'll be back in an hour.
Niko went to the hospital first not only to check on Zac but to make sure no one was waiting to catch them slipping again. He stayed about 15 min before heading over to Tracy's house to get Cain.
Tracy's front door was kicked in and the house had been ransacked. To the naked eye it looked as if someone has taken Tracy and possibly Cane as well but Niko knew it was a set up. All of Cains belongings were gone. All of his clothes including his shoes and favorite two toys were gone.
