"Let's gamble," she said with a wide grin.

You looked at her, confused. "Gamble?"

"Yes!" Mina nodded eagerly, glancing upward. "On the second floor, there's a whole casino. It's the perfect way to get you situated."

You followed her gaze to the ceiling, then back at her. "I don't know..."

She shifted her weight and planted a hand on her hip. "Girl, come on!" she laughed, grabbing your hand without waiting for your answer. "Let's go,"

"Oh—uh—okay!" you squeaked as she pulled you you straight into the flow of the crowd.

Mina led with confidence, holding onto your wrist while you tried to weave around people as politely as possible.

You bumped shoulders with a few strangers here and there, apologizing out of habit—even though the music was way too loud for anyone to hear anything.

Finally, Mina slowed to a stop in front of a staircase leading upward.

The stairway was covered in a pixel-patterned carpet that glowed under the purplish-yellow lamps that casted a warm glow throughout the space.

Mina carefully started up the stairs, and with a sigh, you glanced down at your feet before following right behind her. You took each step slowly, watching your footing to make sure you didn't trip in your heels.

When you reached the top step, the sound hit you immediately—slot machines chiming, coins clinking, and the loud cheers of people crowded around poker tables.

The whole floor buzzed with chaotic excitement.

There were dozens of machines lined up in rows, along with a handful of roulette and poker tables scattered throughout the space.

You stepped forward and found yourself standing slightly in front of Mina, eyes widening as you took in all the neon lights and flashing screens.

"I didn't take you for the gambling type," she said, resting a hand to her hip.

"I'm really not," you replied honestly, not tearing your gaze away from the attractions. "This place just looks... surreal," you added awkwardly.

"Yeah, you're right," Mina agreed, strolling past you as she ran her fingers along the tops of a few slot machines.

"Do you come up here often?" you asked, walking beside her with your hands shoved into the pockets of your leather jacket.

"Hell no!" she laughed.
